I believe the time period is 1800s. Definitely not medieval or modern day. I can't remember if there's magic or not. From what I remember: Aunt Petunia raised Harry as a girl (he may or may not be a hermaphrodite) and arranged for him to be married to Snape. I think Aunt Petunia calls Harry Harrietta. Snape didn't want to get married to a woman (because he's gay), but was obligated to. Snape refuses to consummate the marriage with Harry and carries on a liaison with Lucius Malfoy. At some point Harry finds out and tries to run away using money he earned from selling his hair. That doesn't pan out and he reconciles with Snape.
