So, first of all, I’m not sure one which site I read this on, but I’m hoping someone knows what it is and where I can read it. Here’s everything I remember:

 

There’s a guy who’s terrified of the dark. Always has been. He works at a bar. The boogeyman shows up, and proves that the guy is right to fear the dark. The boogeyman ends up hurting the guy, as well as doing other naughty things to him anytime there’s no light. There’s a new guy working at his bar, a very sweet guy, who practically courts the MC. Finally, when the new guy confesses feelings and asks the MC out, on like a permanent basis, I think, the MC turns him down. At which point, it’s revealed tat the sweet guy was really the boogeyman trying to be all sweet and court the human he loved when it became clear that the MC was terrified of him and he couldn’t help hurting him in his normal guise. THere's some wrap up at the end, but that’s the basic gist of it.
