I think her name is Alex (for short) and she is a trained warrior too. Therefore, she is constantly fighting the guy, even after they wed. She ends up getting pregnant, they fall in love and she saves him from a battle towards the end of the story. Does anyone remember or can find this story? It was written a while ago.
