It was structured like a classic fairy tale: prince rescues princess in tower from dragon, they get married, live happily ever after. But instead, the princess was a man in disguise and the dragon the prince killed was the trapped “princess”s friend. Then they’re forced to get married and the prince is upset about the entire thing and roughly consummates his marriage with the “princess”. The “princess” gets along well with the prince’s parents, but the kill gets sick and the queen only pays attention to him afterwards. The prince also cheats on the “princess” with a maid who gets pregnant. They pass off the kid as the “princess”’s kid and the maid becomes friends with the “princess” but later gets sent to another kingdom. Then the “princess” starts a relationship with a guard but they get found out. It ends with the reveal that the “princess” had some kind of curse, I think, and winds up dying alone.
