The main character's afraid of the dark because he's being tormented by the bogeyman. Halfway through he becomes involved with a guy who turns out to be the bogeyman in disguise. He's conflicted because he likes this guy but he also likes the sec he's been having with the bogeyman. There's something about him getting a cat and a snake as well I think...
