Only, daddy's little princess turned out to be a bit shy of mentally well, and she got obsessive over him, right up until something happened that ruined things for her. Either something happened that destroyed their relationship or something happened to Harry, but he was gone from her life, and Lily couldn't have that. An idea came to her, that no reasonable person would entertain: she'd often been told that she resembled her paternal grandmother more than even her own mother, both in appearance and in general behavior. So Lily dedicated herself to finding a way to go back to Halloween 1981, with the intention of taking over the role of Lily Potter, Harry's mother. She knows enough about Voldemort to be able to arrange the destruction of his Horcruxes to remove him as a future threat, so she'll be free to raise Harry in happiness and safety, teaching him all he needs to know, and making sure he LOVES her. Harry's daughter, Lily, goes back in time to take the place of his mother, and raises him to love her over all others. He can have whatever side girls he wants, particularly once he goes to Hogwarts and is away from her for months at a time, but she's number one.
