VotedforKodos Posted January 10, 2015 Report Share Posted January 10, 2015 Harry learns early on that there are certain "creatures," to use the Ministry's terminology, that manage to somehow be largely ignored by the magical community. Young males in the magical world always get a spell placed on them around the age of 8 or 9 that acts similarly to Ilias's blessing in Monster Girl Quest, leaving them untouched and ignorant of the true nature of many beings they encounter. Harry, by virtue of living with the Dursleys and nobody thinking about it, slips through the cracks. It starts out with plant girls, dryads or alraunes or something similar based on the Dursleys' garden. Harry is the only one who ever takes care of them, and they think it's lousy that he doesn't ever get to enjoy any praise for his labor. Well, one day while no one is around, the women of the garden show their appreciation, and from them Harry learns a bit about magic and the rest of the world. When it comes time to actually go to Hogwarts, since he's both "unspoiled" and with power behind him, Harry is a walking target for the monster girls that surround them. From the start with the goblins, he realizes he's got some position to negotiate, and that he can use this all throughout his life. After all, many of these monster girls are powerful allies that get rejected by the wizarding world. The goblins, of course. Norberta grows up really quick. The centaur that saves him in the forest doesn't take him directly to Hagrid, since him riding her back made her irresistibly horny. Harry finds a benefit to visiting whatever kind of monster girl is guarding the trap door to the Stone, since it helps him avoid the horrible death Dumbledore predicted. Same with the plants underneath. Some of Aragog's daughters are arachne. The "King of Serpents" Slytherin was keeping is actually an echidna, who is soooo glad the boy coming down this time actually has a libido, unlike that one 50 years ago. Mermaids in the lake. Hell, you could take some of the characters straight from MGQ if you had the inspiration. But it's not like they're the only source, so other options are out there. Pity, I really liked it too. Also another good source outside of MGQ or MGE would be the manga series Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou; (DAILY LIFE WITH A MONSTER GIRL).
