How To Post Your Original Character Profile Here.

Recommended Posts

This is the Original Character Profile help forum, a place to help people create a good character or more for their stories. Now no one has a reason to call your character a Mary Sue or a Marty Stu, if you got help with your character before you start writing your stories.

Fandom:

Name of character:

Race of character:

Age of character:

Height of character:

Weight of character:

Brief background of character:

Character's position or job:

Strengths/Skills:

Are these skills typical of the fandom? If not, why?:

Weaknesses/Bad habits:

Distinctive features, if any:

Are these features unique in the fandom? If so, why?:

Connections to canon characters (if any):

How does your character get on with those around him/her?:

What does the other characters think of your character when they met her/him?:

After that is done, people will either let you know where to go with your character either rewrite them or keep going as the character is good.

So enjoy and feel free to post your character profiles here to help your character grow.

Keep in mind, though, that when someone is just starting out as a writer, so-called "Mary Sue" type characters are not just common but actually a very effective way to learn the trade. It's something I certainly did at the start, and I'm not the least bit embarrassed about it. It's fine to encourage someone to begin moving away from Mary Sue characters - it's something that all writers need to do at some point - but 'abusing' is not the same as 'encouraging'.

Another thing to keep in mind is that these character profiles can only really tell a part of the story. The only true way to really judge how a character is doing is from reading the story that the character is in. Only then are you truly going to get an idea of whether the character is working or not. But this could help some people to iron out some problems with a character.
