What About A "contest" Section?

This is an idea that came to me this morning while taking a bath (since all the better ideas often come when taking a bath...or a crap...or when you're about to sleep or...well, you've got the point)

Why don't you add a "Challenge" section, when people can add their own challenges for fanfiction?

Let me make an example:

If I get an idea for a challenge, like, "I'd like to see a good non-slash story that features anal" (that's just an example, first thing that came into my mind at the moment), I'd be able to open a new topic in said Challenge forum (that could be located in the Author Resources subforum), and post something like this

Hi, here's a contest for you!

I want to see a good non-slash story that features anal sex in it.

Let's see some heterosexual butt-fucking for a change.

Rules:

-The story must contain at least a scene with Anal sex

-The story must not be slash or yaoi, we already have plenty of those, I want some "old school" porn for once :jaws:

-The story must have a decent grammar. No sms and msn language, no smileys and such

-You can submit old stories you already posted somewhere, as long as it's not a restricted archive (such as restrictedsection.org), 'cause I don't want to have to register to a dozen archives!

-You can insert an OC, just please don't make it too Mary-sueish

-You cannot submit more than two stories for this contest.

-You cannot submit a story longer than **** words/doc pages

-You cannot submit a story with more than three chapters.

Fandom: Harry Potter only

Prizes:

first place: 20000 naughty points and a bonsai tree!

second place: 10000 naughty points and tomatos!

third place:5000 naughty points

everyone who partecipated: 500 naughty points

*This contest is open till: the 28th of february

That's just an idea, so that everyone can make his own little contest

Of course he/she'll have to read ALL the submission to hir's contest, and to be the judge, or to cooperate with someone who judges the fanfictions with hir.

The creator also decides the prizes, depending on what he/she can afford to offer.

The fandom thing is there because of course not everyone is familiar with the many anime fandoms, not everyone has read the same books or watched the same movies so it really depends on what the creators decide; it could be either "X fandom only", "all fandoms" "all non-anime fandoms" "all fandoms but no crossovers", "originals only" etc.

So, whaddoya think? Stupid idea or good idea? :D

*note: I don't remember the term for the last day when a contest ends at the moment, anyway that's what I meant

Let's see....

There's this entire section. Devoted to nothing BUT contests.

Then of course in the fan fiction forums there are individual challenge forums for the different archive components.

Anime forum category

with linkage to the subforums within......you'll notice a subforum specifically for challenges/requests.

Non Anime forum category

again, see the contained subforums....each particular forum category (i.e. hp, lotr, etc) ALL have a forum for posting challenges and requests.

And so on throughout most of the rest of the fan fiction subforums. I'm not quite finished with that setup yet, as it is being done concurrent to the long term project I've got going, so there is some more tweaking/adding you'll be seeing in the near future.

If you've got specific contest ideas you'd like to see us implement, pm manta2g with your request/suggestion as she is the listed moderator for the contest sections both here and in the archive.
