Hi, I'm JJ, and I'm new to the forums, but not to AFF. I write primarily slash, but have been known to sprinkle in a little het or femslash as side pairings once in awhile.

My main obsessions are anime, Supernatural, Smallville, and certain RPS pairings. I'm pretty much a chat addict, you'll always find me on aim or yim, bishounenjeice or johnnyjosh respectively ^^.

Hi I'm Tone, 25, living in Nottingham, UK but originating from London.

Long time reader on AFF, had an attempt at fic under a different name a while back.

I work as a techie by day. I'm a fan of scifi, music, reading, motorsports and gaming among other things.

I have a few fics in the works at the moment, sat here half finished on my laptop. I hope over time to finish a few, continue some further, get feedback and learn to write better fics (i was good at creative writing at school and think I just need to get back into practice), while enjoying other's fics too. I do original stuff loosely around people and events in my actual life as well as the usual fics of various tv and radio shows and celebrities.

Hello all, I'm CGSMWriter...otherwise known as Mystique/Mysti/Myst.

35 yr. old married mom of 5 (boy who's 12, girls who are 9, 6, 4, and 3)...and I love to read/write...not just here at AFF. Our home has more books than anything and I think I should probably buy stock in Mead with as much paper as I go through. LOL

My penname comes from the fact that a few years ago, I was totally into Charmed, Gilmore Girls, and Strong Medicine and decided to write mainly about those shows (characters as well as celebrity stories with the actors involved)...but I've since branched out.

I'm currently addicted to Ashley Tisdale for some really odd reason (I normally don't go for blonde females) so I've been doing a lot of stories involving her and characters she's played.

I'm usually in the celebrity, television or movies section and I guess I'm rare (from the looks of most of the stories) in prefering FemSlash...which is mostly all I read and write, though I did try my hand at ONE M/F pairing posted here.

Hi, I'm JD. I seem to write a lot of requests, and a lot of rape/death fantasy but I'd like to turn the visceral side of my writing towards proper horror someday. I think Clive Barker is some kind of god, although I am not sure if that is a good or bad thing. I am often surprised when people tell me that something I wrote was arousing to them, and sometimes scared by it. I like playing games with words and pretending to be what I'm not. I like writing and I like people who like my writing. I like reading, but don't have much time to do it if I want to write. My greatest regret in life is that I have never learned to draw.

I'm the goofball and yes, the name does suit me quite fine, thank you. But I also listen to nutcase

What's to say about me? I'm 36, from Germany, have a weird kind of humour and only started reading Harry Potter fanfic October last year and got badly hooked.

Now I'm writing myself since November and let me tell you, writing is not less addictive then reading (even though I'm really glad to have overcome my writer's block after years of not writing at all, I would really appreciate my muse to stop dwelling on fanfic porn and get some other stuff done (maybe porn that I could sell??)– but alas *sigh* at least I'm writing.)

My main character will probably always be the snarky git (sarcasm IS sexy) and there will be the Malfoys and Harry involved, even though there (is and) will be the one or other oneshot that pops into my head and doesn't leave until it's written down.

I think that's it for now.

EDIT: I TOTALLY love the naughty-points. *gryn* make me remember other kind of naughty-points someone can earn with me B)

I'm new here as well...I don't write yaoi and for some stories I tend to say away from it a bit. Although I love SquallxSeifer from FF8.

I love writing original stories and I'm usually influenced by what music I'm listening to and my dreams.

I'm trying my hand at fanfiction and I think I'm doing an okay job of it. People seem to like reading my work...no matter how...waff it may get. Maybe I tend to go to waff due to the lack of romance in my life but woe is the life of the lonely writer.

Oh well! At least I have ice cream! Yum.

Hey everyone. I'm Avarion; I joined AFF a couple of days ago after spending about two years dropping by from time to time, so in a sense I'm an old newbie, though I am brand new to the forums.

I'm normally on here reading DBZ fics although I do love a bit of Harry Potter yaoi ;3

I used to contribute to FF.net before they scrapped the NC-17 rating, and did attempt to write less explicit material but I didn't enjoy toning down my ideas, so I never bothered to submit any work until now.

At present, I don't feel as though my writing is organic or has a particular style or flow. I've suffered writer's/artist's block for around three years and if any of my work seems contrived then it most probably is! I feel I am my own worst critic and I fail to give any of my work the chance to evolve, but as I contribute to AFF I hope I can develop a proper voice and write more engaging material.

Aside from that, I'm a 20 year old (or young!) philosophy student studying at Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) in England, and I'm due to start the second year of my degree in September. I love a wide and highly diverse range of music, although at present I am very much into drum and bass and electronica. I read tons of books, though mostly non-fiction in the past 18 months or so, but my favourite novel of recent years has to be Memoirs of a Geisha. Utterly spellbinding.

I can't help but ramble with this type of stuff even though I do worry about sounding self absorbed, so I think I'll bring this post to a close for now.

Whatever brought you here, I hope you find many fascinating people and things to enjoy. I can sympathize with your concerns regarding your style. My writer's block got so bad that I simply walked away from writing completely for years but it can be a joy rediscovering your own unique voice. Good luck with it and just have faith in yourself. While I probably shouldn't be giving advice, it seems to slip from my mouth and fingertips of it's own accord!

Anyway, welcome to AFF. There's some excellent DBZ and Potter fics posted here as well as lively conversation to be found in the forum.

I think the biggest crutch of writer's block is that we worry about it getting worse and make it worse by worrying! The cycle can sometimes feel endless, but the only way to break through it is to overcome the inhibitions that have alienated us from our work. I currently feel as though my block is still quite serious as I can't even write a diary; it's not that I don't have anything to write, I just can't face my own thoughts staring back at me. It's almost as if writing down what I feel is too close for comfort. I suppose, in a sense, it's a bit like denial; it's the refusal of honesty, and it acts as the imagination's deadliest pollutant. I thoroughly appreciate all advice, thoughts and opinions on writer's block as it's quite fascinating in its own way.

As for DBZ fics, I've read some remarkable work in the past week or so, although it's a shame there isn't much new material to browse. Most of the stuff I've read so far is several years old. I wonder why submissions have slowed down.
