  1. http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/08138/882650-85.stm Seeing as one of those is from 2004, and one from 2006, the above is a more recent article on the 'Red Rose' case, since that one is from two and a half years ago. "the federal government has never won a conviction based solely on text under current obscenity law." But, yes, if they wanted to make trouble they possibly could - but again I would think that the fact that this site is so many times larger than that one, and has surely been reported many times by anti-pornography people, and still they haven't tried anything... Well, doesn't seem like cause for worry on that front.
  2. I don't write kiddy stories, I don't read 'em (although, age of consent is 16 in my country.) However, I would find it very hard to believe that "the authorities" aren't already aware of a site as large as this one, and would assume the issues they face with successful prosecutions against fiction in the states would be why nothing has happened after years of active status. Also, statistically it's far more likely that dozens of people who don't like slash or whatever have been trying to get the place shut down with whatever claim they can for years. The fact that the webhost is able to run the site without any terms of service violation is surely evidence enough that the site is legal? S'not like you're on some hacked illegal server somewhere. They'll be complaining about the homosexuals next. It reads like a troll to me, ability to spell be damned, a "I don't like this writer so I'm going to try and have them deleted" troll. The whole "Just found it through searching" thing doesn't have to be true. Have you tried googling their email address? See if they've any record of trolling anywhere and silly enough to use the same addy all over? Also, as DarkInuLord says there's no reason that just because a story features something unpleasant the writer wants to do it. Otherwise, Stephen King would be shot on sight entering Maine.
  3. Dammit, do you all know what this means? It means that somebody is going to have to rant about the old Lemmings games. I had it on Sega Master System and the higher levels just pissed all over me, and left me for dead. Those little green haired suicidal bastards...
  4. Hi, this story was completed today, and is a four chapter story of 1000+ words (at a guess) excluding disclaimer etc. Please if you like the story as described below would you go and read it. Title: Pleasurable Evils Author: Joandoe/JD Rating: Adult++ Summary: The magical sacrifice of Dawn leaves Buffy powerless and grants soulless vampires Spike and Angelus the chance to destroy the Slayer. Content Codes: Abuse, Anal, Bond, COMPLETE, Crossover, Death, DP, F/M/M, Humil, Inc, M/F, M/M, Moresome, N/C, Nec, Non-Fic, Oral, Other, Rim, Tort, Trans, Violence, VS Feedback: This would be gratefully appreciated and accepted - particularly negative feedback* as I find it useful for improvement, but I am not choosy. Fandom: Buffy the Vampire Slayer / Angel the Series crossover. Many pairings. URL: http://buffy.adult-fanfiction.org/story.php?no=600031101 Thank you for a few minutes of your life. JD *Assuming the negative feedback isn't just to tell me that you didn't read the codes and are not happy. I get that a lot.
  5. Schlong? S'from Yiddish borrowed to English. Now, my favourite borrowed term from Yiddish is Zaftig, because it so perfectly describes a certain body shape without the negative connotations associated with some of the English words that might be used. [/off topic]
  6. I'm doing my bit with the graphic cannibalism...
  7. So far as plotting and storylines go, I've almost always preferred original to fanfiction. If I want literature or just a non-smut read I hit the library or buy a book/comic. I write smut, read smut and, basically, I'm in it for the smut. Each to their own tho'
  8. Now there's a story code I don't have much use for
  9. Holy crap! The proof is in the pudding alright... Unless that's a troll. Seems a little OTT Shipping wars weird me out. That people get so upset over this pairing or that pairing or whatever... It's just fanfiction, it's just fun and creativity! Bah. A Rant for another thread, there perhaps.
  10. I'm not currently on anything, but I have been working my way through the local public library's collection of Philip K. Dick.
  11. Normally they don't bother me. I've got quite a few and haven't replied to past ones... for some reason this fifth one for a Firefly fanfic got to me though. I guess it's because I tended to think of Firefly fans as being intelligent enough to take disclaimers, story codes and summaries into account and yet my illusions have been repeatedly shattered.
  12. Story codes and disclaimers are so damn useful. While not seeing it from an admin perspective I too certainly prefer good disclaimers and accurate story coding. Especially with sexual fetish stories where, for some readers or writers, the fetish is all important and if you don't get off on it you probably have no chance of enjoying the story. DarkInuLord - I don't mind at all! I'm only vaguely aware of what Inuyasha is though so I probably won't go read it.
  13. Everything I post goes on adult-fanfiction.org adult-fanfiction.org is the best site I've had for feedback. If I only put on two sites, adult-fanfiction.org would be one, and Grey Archive the other. I've sent everything that fits it to the Grey Archive, which has really only left out a couple of stories that would have gone on the old White Archive. I have an author's page at Wacky World of Erotic Cartoons. Superhero stories I send to superstories.net I've not written anything that would be allowed on ff.net for a long time. Even before they kicked off all the really hard stuff I'd probably have been pushing it. I post the occasional story to forums like gurochan's /lit/ board as well, if I think the forum users will enjoy it. Mostly, of course, they hate it with the exploding power of a million suns. So it goes.
  14. DemonGoddess061 - Thank you. I think story codes serve a very useful purpose and it's great that adult-fanfiction.org has a wide range available. DarkInuLord - It really does seem kind of dumb to read something you could tell in advance or very early on you won't like, and then complain about it. It'd be like me going to see a movie that clearly listed Tom Green as appearing and complaining I didn't like what I saw. I'm used to being flaming. On another celebrity story site a guy was making death threats, which would have been scarier if he wasn't some 500 pound shut in with sock-puppet account delusions of being a lesbian. Yet, yet another flame from someone who could surely tell from the beginning they weren't gonna like it inspired this rant... Anyway, thanks for both of you! Just needed to vent really.
  15. This rant originated down in the Flames thread on the reviews board as a post there, before I decided it was more of a rant than a post and better suited to here. If it's too bad as a rant, then could one of the mods delete it and PM me with my error? Background: I wrote Firefly story which can be found on my authors page. Ain't direct linking it as this isn't a promo. I originally had three flames for this story, See flames thread here Then got another one, see flames thread here ...and then, today another one! And from below is where the post I was going to post there began: Damn, if it isn't people taking the archive clean up project personally and throwing hissy fits as if the whole thing was aimed at them, it's people seeing stuff like: From my Firefly story summary: From my Firefly story codes: And, inside, additional story codes and disclaimer: ...and deciding that it is something they'd enjoy to read even though not a one of the codes is something they like and I go out of my way to make it really, really, really clear the story is not a warm and fluffy romance tale. So, having been shocked, horrified and disturbed by the clearly marked horrific adult content I get flames like this: "Seek help. You clearly need it." Not a flame there, yeah, right. Nothing I ever wrote is worse than anything Clive Barker or Stephen King puts out, and most of it is tamer than the likes of Saw movies, Hostel movies or Japanese kids TV. It's HORROR, Darkfic, disturbing nightmare fuel. I don't write it to wind people up, because if I did, guess what, I'd not put all the story codes in. And flame stuff like getting pissed off at a character being portrayed as aroused during rape - when there's lots of evidence that it happens without the slightest conscious effort of a victim, much to shame - and calling it offensive... No, not intended to be a flame! I don't promote rape, but many people have fantasies of being raped (and even tortured), including myself. And there's nothing wrong with fictional fantasies. Nobody seems able to grasp that. See, this is what gets me about my flames: I know what I write is niche stuff . I know most of it is horrorific and disturbing. I know a lot of people - A LOT of people - don't want to read it. So knowing this I go out of my way time after time to make the content really clear so they don't have to. And they read it anyway. And then, even if they ignore the summary, story codes, disclaimer... round about the time somebody gets a dick shoved in their face or a nailgun comes out surely a sensible adult had gotta say to themself "Ain't my thing!" and quit reading, not blame an author creating fiction for creating fiction. "The fact that your disclaimer says rape is wrong in the real world doesn't condone the writing you've done here" Well, sure. It's not intended to. The fact that my writing is FICTION, clearly portrayed and warned as such, condones my creativity here. I write. I put it on adult sites with warnings for adults. If you don't like it, don't read it. I mean, seriously, surely you have better things to do than read stories you don't like? There's thousands of stories here you can spend your time on instead.

Mine are more along the lines of: 1) Those who don't read story codes and disclaimers, or take hints from summaries and titles, and are disgusted, horrified and so mentally wishing I was rotting in a ditch, and want to share this. 2) Everyone else.
  17. http://cartoon.adult-fanfiction.org/story.php?no=600090880 http://cartoon.adult-fanfiction.org/story.php?no=600091440 There is no "I don't own this and make no money from it" disclaimer included either at the top or elsewhere within the text of these two stories. As the author has them on his other four stories I would guess it is simple oversight here.
  18. http://tv.adult-fanfiction.org/authors.php?no=1296771716 Looks like everything this author writers under TV is duplicated in seperate story sections. (I have not linked every story as requested as there are over fifty stories duplicated, however it is clear from the list which is duplicating which.)
  19. Hi, this story was completed today, and is a single chapter oneshot story of only 2701 words excluding disclaimer etc. Please if you like the story as described below would you go and read it. Flames

Hi there, I just got the email about your review, and read it, and was really pleased to do so. I've kind of not had time to write much or check out the forum recently, so it was a timely reminder it was here. If you want enjoyable flames, you just need to write stories that have kinks that are not other people's kinks! And so this post isn't just me thanking Tuftiperkys, my latest flame from a few days ago: Browncoats. Unable to follow simple disclaimers and story codes. Also, there's loads of movies, books, comics and so on with worse scenes for people to carry in their minds, including any scene with Liz Hurley trying to act.
  23. Promotion Deleted.
  24. I have seen my stories posted elsewhere, sometimes with my name/disclaimer etc and sometimes not, but I have never seen anyone else actually take credit. There's probably a quality related reason for that.
