  1. ok, finally found something that squicks me out and that i would never write: self insertioni/mary sue. I wrote a self instruction gundam wing fic on self defense and i still couldn't put myself into it.
  2. um, wow, a majority of the stuff that people get squicked out about on this list, I've not only written about, but you can find on my stuff on this site. Fecaphilia, BDSM, child abuse, rape, torture, bestiality, anthro, incest, nothing squicks me out. Of course, my cousin is really into BDSM, so I learned about it at an early age so it doesn't freak me out. Anything I haven't written about it is because I haven't found away to put it in a fic without it feeling like its just there for the sake of it.
  3. Ok, this isn't shi talking, but her cousin. It's like being surrounded by heat and water with a light pressure on the most sensitive part of your body. And some guys *cough* like me *cough* enjoy to have their urethra played with, but I don't see a lot of it in fanfiction. I think that's because girls try to imagine what it would be like for them, but physiologically, it is much different for guys.
  4. Silent Hill, Supernatural, Angela Aki, Deathproof... really it would be easier to ask me what music doesn't inspire me to which I would reply: rap or anything that sounds remotely like rap (exluding some Japanese rap like Deep Calm which I think doesn't count as rap)
  5. A ton of places, really. Well, I needed a good nightmare scene for Solstice, my novel, but nothing was coming to me. I needed something creepy and original, but also something that my MC would definitely dream about. My college library has a window that looks like something bled out on it and if you sit under it, you get bathed in this bloody light. It's really creepy and neat. Some art major did it years ago as a joke. Anyway, I sat under that window thinking, I'll just write a scene that describes blood. Instead, I wrote this disturbing dream sequence that spans four pages. I just couldn't stop getting ideas when I was under that window! I get ideas from my cousin. It was his idea to do Gundam Wing Hentai. I get ideas from movies. I don't mean like direct movie to fandom type stuff as I don't like seeing it. I was watching Underworld and came up with the idea of Ethereal which is just a fic on a vampire falling in love with a werewolf. Books and manga are a great source. Violence+Sex=Love came from Scar Tissue where the MC gets raped by the boy he loves and he wonders if it is rape if you love the person. Dearly Departed came from a mix of Petshop of Horrors and Chobits. Music Box Trilogy was inspired by the Transiberian Orchestra. I also get ideas when I'm pissed off about something. For example, Gundam Wing Fairytales. I was in my music class and we had to go to see a Disney Beauty and the Beast musical. I was so angry leaving that thing that I went home and decided to write an anthology of Gundam Wing stories showing how the fairy tales were really written before Disney butchered them.
  6. I absolutely need more people reviewing my novel work, Solstice, if it is to ever be published by the end of my life. no, it is not finished, but if someone has a suggestion and I use it, i will have to integrate into the rest of the story. Any review will do, grammar, story/plot, character development. I just need to put a warning out here: yes, my story does involve graphic sex, violence, prejudice, and disturbing dream sequences that may bother young children, but since I have no beta, I need some hints and ideas for my book. Thanks.
  7. I don't know, not only am i not interested in the lives of celebrities at all, writing about them seems like a strange mix of stalking/amateur porn/wishful thinking to me.
  8. No, not my personal life, really, however my cousin is a victim of severe physical and sexual abuse and I have found that his voice pops up in quite a few of my stories. Then again, considering how close we are and how emotional i was when I found out about this, I guess it is a little personal.
  9. "I'll protect you from the man eating toast."
  10. "If toast became a sentient being, would it be a carnovoire or an herbivore?"
  11. it is generally a good idea to start at the ending only if you have an incredible twist that people have to know about, other wise people just get annoyed. If you don't do it right, it can also be very confusing. I'm a very linear person, but I also love twist endings. So, in other words, it isn't the plot but how you write it. You can accomplish either as long as you keep it engaging and sensical. The more plot twists and complex characters you put in, the more likely you'll lose your audience. Simplicity is a beautiful thing. For example, IT by Stephen King had a lot of time mix ups. He flips from when his characters are kids to when they are adults so many times, but because he kept things simple and clear, it worked beautifully and actually made the novel so good.
  12. One day, my cousin uttered those fateful words to me, 'hey, wanna go to japan with me?' And thus a fangirl was born. My cousin is a freelance artist that lives in japan. I went and got to see anime for the first time. I started to watch gundam wing, but in the middle of the series so I had no idea what was going on. I looked it up online and the first site i came to was a yaoi fanfiction site. I didn't even know what fanfics were at the time let alone sex or yaoi, but i loved it. I got the sudden urge to write stuff like that and from my first one, my friends loved my stuff, so i've been writing ever since. it's been almost ten years now.
  13. hint: just because they don't meet in the series doesn't mean they can't hook up in a fanfic. C'mon, I would love to read more 6x2 and 13x2 in gundam wing. Yeah, they never meet, but they're hot together, and isn't that all that matters?
  14. Untitled's annoy me more than bad titles just because you can't really search for them on google. I had one story that had been untitled for years and I refused to post it. Last year I finally posted it. 'Ethereal', not the greatest title, but better than nothing. I have a pretty poetic mind, so I find it very easy to come up with titles that both describe the fic and leave much to the imagination. For example, when I joined Nanowrimo I couldn't think of a title. Since it was about werewolves, I settled Solstice. I've seen so many corny sounding werewolf books that i didn't want to be one of those people and the exact definition of a solstice fit the idea of the book. I find that, shorter the title, the better. It annoys me when the title is so long, it reads more like a sentence than a title.
  15. i mostly read gundam wing fiction and i am often shocked how horribly their names are spelled. I asked around and it turns out Duo's is the only name that hasn't been butchured because its not common to spell it any other way. The reason that this is, I feel, is that people try to sound out the person's name. The greatest examples are Heero, Rashid, and Pargan. The other issue is that the japanese spellings are different than the english. In japan, Heero Yuy is spelled Hiiro Yui. I recently read a fic where Relena's name was spelled Reylena and it drove me insane, though I equate this to the fact that I am a spelling and grammar nazi. If you have access to a computer I have a tip for you: even if you are pretty sure of the correct spelling, unless you own the manga or book, look it up on wikipedia or imdb, I beg of you.
  16. i find it harder writing fanfic characters because everyone has their own perception of how that character would act or speak and if you don't get it right, they will bore of your fic very quickly, but with OC's you can make them do or say anything because they are your babies and it is in your mind alone how they will act in certain situations. I find it hard to write in my gw fanfics when the characters get to certain spots cause i'm not sure how to write it realistically, but when I wrote in my novel Solstice, I clocked thirty pages in one day, it just flowed for me because I had an intimate understanding of my characters.
  17. At 20, I'm still a virgin and since I have issues with even slight intimacy, i'm ok with that, but my cousin was only thirteen the first time he had sex. According to him, he had a lot of sexual knowledge, but knowing and doing are completely different and the whole time he was so scared he couldn't enjoy it.
  18. Sigh, yes I'll admit it, I like tentacle sex and anthro sex, but considering i love werewolves, i don't think its that much of a stretch. Psychologically, people are always looking for new and kinky experiences, so writing or reading about sex that couldn't happen allows people to create their own fantasies. As for the tentacles, well, tentacles can do things to you no human can *grin*
  19. I write mostly yaoi with a bit of yuri, which is kind of ironic considering I'm a lesbian, but my cousin is gay and he got me into anime and fangirlness, so I blame him. Heterosexualism creeps me out. No offense to those that practice it, but writing it doesn't interest me. If I see a guy and girl making out, I usually block out the guy and focus on the girl. Also, I've been watching hentai for so long that live action porn grosses me out. A friend of mine is reading my novel Solstice in which I have three characters, two guys who love each other and a lesbian and she said "don't you ever write hetero sex?" That was the first time I thought about it, but no, I don't think I've ever written a heterosexual couple that doesn't end up turning gay by the end. I suppose that there is something wrong with me. Lol. I suppose that there is something wrong with a lesbian writing yaoi, but it's what i like to write.
  20. to be fair, I've been posting for a long time and I had never heard of aff. I posted on ilovebishonen.com.ar because I am mostly a gundam wing yaoi writer and for the past few years i got really serious and posted on gundam-wing-archive. However, there was a scary time when the archive looked like it was shutting down and I panicked. My friend, who doesn't write fanfiction but is very supportive of my stuff, told me that she knew someone that uses this site. I'm very shy posting my stuff because it can be very squicky and adult (read Gundam Wing Hentai if you dare!) and a lot of people get offended by that stuff so I have to choose where I post carefully (I refuse to post on FF.net on moral basis aka they seem to hate sex). this site really is a godsend. Not only can I post my nc-17 gw stuff, but my novel works as well. So, since I started to post here, it's been my #1
  21. I have a Gundam Wing fic called The Music Box Trilogy that was supposed to focus on Xmas. I told myself, I am gonna update every xmas season and will therefore be done in three years! Such a bold and naiive thought. It is five years later and i still haven't made it past the first part. I haven't given up on the fic, just the once a year concept.
  22. My biggest problem is not that my muse never cooperates, its that he won't shut up! Really, I get ideas at least three times a week for new fics and novels, so I'm constantly writing new works. This annoyes my readers, for which I apologize, but if I don't write when the inspiration hits me, it just won't get written. For example, I'm rotating all of my WIP Gundam Wing fics while I am constantly writing at least 5 pages of my novel Solstice a day. WIP: Gundam Wing Hentai: this will never be finished because it is an anthology and thus doesn't have to have an ending and I hope that sooner or later other people will write stories for it (nudge nudge) My Angel Black Heart Midnight Serenade A Stagnation of Love: both the Gundam Wing one and my original work. Let me clarify: there is an ending, but I plan to rewrite both of them, so I don't consider them complete Dearly Departed Truth or Dare Solstice: my original work Tears of the wolf: see A stagnation of love, same issues Violence + Sex = Love To love you 'til death Ethereal The Music Box Trilogy Sleep's a Privelage, not a right Shame and Betrayal Gundam Wing Fairy Tales Friday Fight Club Dark Side of the Heart Death Change of Heart The sad part is, these are not all of my fics, just the ones I have on AFF so the list is much, much longer.
  23. I would consider it a great honor to have someone write a fanfic based on my work, it wouldn't even matter what the fanfic is about, just the fact that author had read my work and had been influenced enough to write a fanfic on it would make me all warm and fuzzy inside. I mean, sure there are things I wouldn't want to see written, but I'm a huge advocate of freedom of speech, so I wouldn't be offended all that much and if i was i wouldn't try to get it removed. Since I'm a fanfic writer myself and hate it when people flame me on content alone, I would consider that to be hypocritical of me.
  24. Nihao, I'm looking for a beta to look over my original story Solstice which is located in my original fiction page. It was my nanowrimo project, but now that nanowrimo is over, I plan to get the book published. I am still working on the novel, but need to get it beta'd as I go along. Solstice is a story about a boy who becomes a werewolf and cannot deal with it, a werewolf who is being hunted by another supernatural force, and a third werewolf who was cast out from her family and becomes a supernatural hunter. The three of them meet and have to help each other beat said evil force. The book itself has a great deal of graphic violence including rape of a minor by his father, consentual homoerotic sex, and a good deal of gore and cursing. Basically, I need someone to read what I have written so far; the story is updated every few days, and help me fix it gramatically and help me make the plot tangible and publishable. My email is thorperin@pmc.edu.
