Gotta love allergies. ugh. My eyes will be gritty until I mow again, and then I go back to the eyes glued shut the first day after.

Checked with my son, last snow was April 20th. All these weeds sprouted up in that short time. ugh
-
Holy caw… Lawnzilla is on overdrive!
-
We’ve mowed at least 5 times since April 20th.
-
Keep your fingers crossed for me, looks like I actually get a day off Thursday!

That's awesome! I'm really happy for you!
-
It’s been a looooong month. HATE being short staffed. ugh.
-
I feel you there. I remember being short staffed almost every night back when working at the doughnut place for my last job.
-
Everyone have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

A very Happy Thanksgiving to everyone celebrating, and may your feast be fabulous!

Hope you had one too, DG.

It was an eventful October, and it doesn’t look like it’ll be easing up.

Stupid real life. I say we lobby to be put back into the Matrix and forget all of this ever happened.
-
We are in The Matrix. Problem is, it’s being run by EA hence all the grinding and microtransactions.

@JayDee all of a sudden I'm regretting all those Sims I've tortured over the years...

I need a day off from work. I need to be able to take a loooong weekend even. HAH. Hah, hah, hah. Not likely in the near future

Not a doctor, but I’ll prescribe a week off for you.
-
Yes, getting OT. But ye gods, it doesn’t make up for it after awhile.
-
“Irritation pay” should be a thing.
-
We have new hires, that are even trained! Let’s see how long this lasts, to where I can actually work a NORMAL week. Keeping my fingers crossed!

- HOORAY!!!!!

I second what Bronxie said, HOORAY!! And I sincerely hope it’ll last for you, DG.

I hope it lasts too. Very tired of the work/sleep work/sleep work/sleep cycle. With NO time for hardly anything else, except errands.
-
So, I’ve finally gotten a day off, after many 12 to 14 hour workdays, and guess what I did? Mostly I SLEPT. Slowly getting other stuff caught up here now.

I’m planning on sleeping next weekend. ::nods:: Yes, indeed, for more than 4 hours and without any alarm clocks going off next to me.
-
Can’t avoid the alarms, have to get up a certain time daily to be sure my cat gets his shot!
-
ElderSpawn helps with pup meds.
-
So, Monday was 12 hours, Tuesday was 13 hours, Wednesday was 12 hours, yesterday was 9 ½, and today is 12 plus. arrrrrrrrgggggggghhhh
-
That doesn’t even sound remotely sane… or legal, honestly.
-
At least for the daft one, it’s seasonal. Commencement has meant many, many 16 hour shifts. He went to work yesterday at 7am and isn’t home until tonight at 5pm…. they are short-staffed, too.
-
Well, at least I get overtime and I’m not salaried.
-
-
We really need to get some people hired. This is BEYOND ridiculous at work

-
Okay, I’ll apply. But the commute to and from work is going to be a bitch!
-
Wow. That sucks even more than my situation. (I went through almost 50 applications and managed to find 3 candidates who actually seemed worth interviewing. One didn’t show up for the interview, another backed out, and the third declined the job offer.)
-
What the hell is wrong with people today and their attitude to working? I don't understand it.
-
Had to put Grendel to sleep today. He was a good old cat.

I know how tough it is to have to do that, no matter how necessary it is. As long as he had a good life, that’s the important thing.
-
Sympathies, DG… you gave him a good life and a compassionate ending. I hope as much for all of us...
-
Sorry to hear it. It’s always hard
-
I really, REALLY wish shit would stabilize at work. Two twelve hour days in a row
-
So, my boy goes back to the vet yet again for a glucose curve on Monday. Hopefully, the dosage worked out on Friday is the one that’ll work. It has certainly made a marked difference in his overall behavior! He’s doing things he hasn’t felt like doing for the last month!

Fingers crossed all goes well.
-
Oh, I am crossing everything for you! But go, Jeb, go!
-
Glad to hear it!
-
So, took my second oldest of the old men cats in for his glucose testing to determine his insulin dosage. He started losing massive amounts of weight about 3 ½ weeks ago, so we took him in last week for an initial appointment, which is when we found out he was diabetic. He went from 26 pounds to 10. Since his appointment last week, he lost another half pound. My boy can’t afford to lose any more weight :(. I hope this works, because if I don’t see big improvement over the next couple months, I’m going to end up having him put down so he doesn’t suffer

If they’re fussing, they’re getting better.
-
Now I’m imagining a vet peeling a cat off the ceiling… *has read too much Herriot*
-
heh, we were peeling him off of ME this morning

Upgraded forum and mod gallery today, caught up on new reg sheet, and am catching up on minors and such
-
So we had another walk off, no great loss, the girl was LAZY and sporadic with attention, but still…..
-
So very glad my work week is over, for a day. hahahah. And now I have the fecking flu.

Oh, well, hells…
I’ve been sucked in (finally!) by Dragon Age Inquisition. It’s actually amazing, and addictive.
-
*hugs* Hope you’re in bed and resting.
-
I need a “doesn’t like this but feels bad about this” button. Get well soon!
-
So, my work schedule appears to finally normalizing. We’ll see how long that lasts.
Agenda for today:
Upgrade the forum
catch up on self admitted minors
hunt other minors
continue the finalization of character set conversion in buffy, where I’m working- Show previous comments 2 more

Lemme see if amazon sells it….
-
Intriguing, never thought to check the audio menu before…. it’s on the DVD, good
-
One of the first things I check on BluRay/DVD are the special features.

Happy birthday Bronxie! My friend who is such a great help to me, especially here!

Well, it’s getting merrier now that I’m up to having tea, but I think my birthday tikka masal is not going to happen this year. I’ll make up for it later in the week.
But, I must squeal a bit, my daft one got tickets for us to see Ronan Tynan (one of the Irish tenors) at Fordham in March. It’s cocktails followed by a concert, and I’m thrilled, because he’s got a magnificent voice, and is a sweetheart to boot.
-
Awesome present, but I’m sorry you’ve been poorly. You will have to have two birthdays this year – like the queen
-
This is what comes of living with a corgi… I get delusions of royalty.
-
I will do the software upgrades I’m supposed to as soon as I get a minute to breathe….

yup, 12 hours yesterday, 17 the day before, no days off for the foreseeable future. At least until we get our new hires in and trained.
-
But you have new hires, and hopefully it means an end in sight. And in the meantime, let us know how we can help.
-
Keep doing what you’re doing, you guys are saving me!
-
We’re finally, FINALLY getting some new hires in which show promise. Maybe, just MAYBE, we (mgr and I) can start normalizing our work weeks.

I’m crossing everything for you!
-
I really hope it works out for you, DG. You work way too hard, and have done for ages.. years, even..
-
I’d like to have a normal, 40 hour week. At least once a month. hehehehe
