it all depends on the kind of story you want to write. if you want sex to be something that's major and important to the story, then you need to have a decent amount of build-up, but make sure the sex scene is fitted to the build-up. really, as long as a story is interesting, you don't have to worry about having too much build-up. you just have to make sure that when you write the sex scene, it's a gratifying moment for the reader as well as for the characters. if it's a one shot, and sex is vital to the central plot, then you don't want to drag out the build-up to the climax. a rule of thumb i like to use when i'm writing sex and the build-up to it: anticipation heightens the experience. a good example of build-up is The Nerd by animehead.

all i have to say is that it sucks somebody has the free time to continuously bomb a site like this, particularly when they are supposed to be an adult. however, thank you so much for quickly, and promptly deleting all of the spam. and i do mean, all of it. if i remember there were over two thousand stories posted between five names, yes? so, great job getting it taken care of as quickly as you could. that it happened is frustrating, but that you took care of it is a great relief. *loves*

i never really sit down and plan a story. i'm usually smacked with inspiration as i'm snuggling into my bed. so i keep several notebooks and colored pens beside my bed to jot things down at night. most of my planning comes from snatches of a scene that i see in my mind and writing around it. although, a few of my stories i've actually created full outlines for and written out character relationships. other than that, it's not really complicated. i never do a lot of work when it comes to planning a story out.

the biggest reward i get from writing is that i get to explore different writing styles and i get to find something that fits me best. i found that i prefer to explore emotional aspects of life. i think it allows me the opportunity to grow as a writer, to explore my own creativity and learn more about myself as a writer. i like the way it feels to read through older work and my newest stuff, to see how much i've grown. although, i have to say that reviews are a wonderful reward as well.
