I definitely had a little trouble with threading some of the bits together on this one, but I assume the surrealist side is kind of the point with the various gods/entities and past/future elements mixed in through dream and ending? Glykon did say that Logan would share a dream.
-The ancient/powerful god with the snake, I was worried for a moment there it was gonna turn into a Harry Potter crossover :p I guess that Logan couldn’t intervene because it was more of a vision of the past rather than actual time travel? Duncan repeats the worst moments of his entire existence when he sleeps. The incarnations may be interred in history but they are still him and he is still them.
A reference to a moment of awesome to essentially tell Marduk himself momento mori just after his crowning moment of glory.
It seemed to be covering some of the issues for why they had their falling out with the angels of that world? Or possibly I misunderstood that! Kinda wondered if those feathers later on in the present/future were tied to that somehow. Foreshadowing and also who did he see after that? *nudge* @InBrightestDay will be happy when they eventually catch up.
I definitely couldn’t tell for sure if Logan was in the future as he woke up, or, since neither Hel nor Glykon had spotted anything if it was only a timeskip once he hit the mailbox and found it stuffed full of crap. An entire year worth of ads and other spam and mail. Duncan enchanted his mailbox so it could hold much more than it should. That said
The Year That Never Was- Is essentially that, reality is unstable from the damage and when someone tried to force their will on it snapped almost everyone a year into the future. Mass confusion and chaos even without the pandemic.
Glykon’s whole bit was great – loved the line about a god and a doorknob – but still just loving the heck out of that character in general! Glykon is a treat to write I find it adorable that he’s definitively has this grandson/ granddad dynamic with Logan despite being way older than Logan. Not a child but not a teenager just yet.
One last thing – on the forum you said Southern Wind but the title here is Southwestern Wind – I see that a ‘southern wind’ picked up in the story so was that just a typo/old title used on the actual chapter or is it a shifting wind?

I spent a while thinking about this, trying to write Meaningful Gifts, and eventually came to a decision...and by eventually I mean earlier today.
Meaningful Gifts began as a story called Cold Comfort (which itself was based on a heart-crushingly sad story on Literotica that I wanted to do a happier version of).  Then, while I was coming up with the idea of MG, Halloween happened, and I had an idea for a story that was very similar to MG, but took place at and after a Halloween party, this one called For One Night Only.  I had assumed I would never write Cold Comfort, and would only use the ideas for Meaningful Gifts, but the more time I spent trying and failing to keep MG distinct from For One Night Only, the more I began to think it might be better to merge the elements I liked from one of those into the other.
End result: Meaningful Gifts is not going up.  Instead, the elements of the relationship I really like will, I think, be absorbed into For One Night Only, which will go up on Halloween.  In addition, there is a good possibility that I will eventually end up writing Cold Comfort after all, though I don’t plan that to be a Holiday Party release.
I’m really sorry for anyone I’ve disappointed here.   I know my promise to write MG was part of what caused this party to happen.

Late again (dang it!) but Chapter 4 is up.  We get to know some more characters and begin planting the seeds of what’s to come.

She did kill that dog’s whole family. I haven’t got on to the new Tomb Raider games yet, but in the old ones she was always blasting hell out of animals who were just trying to live their lives. She was always fucking dogs, it was just she she used to use pistols or a shotgun!
It wasn’t always a given she’d be alive when I played either. I never intended for her to die, I was just never that great. You’re right about her poor porn fic outcomes though. I alone have written something like five stories with her in, (one is a part of a story under movies) and she dies in at least three of them. She did survive the one where she gave birth to a Centaur.
On the sentience/squick level – I had an earlier dog story called Unleash the Beast that would be squickier because the dog was not magic, but at least no sex slave ending so… Then another time I’ve donea story using one of Narnia’s talking horses where sentience + speech made it virtually a furry fic. I’m not proud. Except for the title. That made me smile.
Surprising hotness is one of the best kinds! Also the most worrying when you wake up at 3am and think “Whoa, I found that hot. Is being a monster infectious?” 
Thanks for asking about the question mark – I think it is actually intentionally meant to be Lara questioning that it felt good (which would naturally be a surprise), with the lack of clarity being down to poor phrasing.
I was trying to think if I had any stories I could recommend that might suit your tastes and, well, nope. Not a single story of mine outside the slumber-verse I would recommend for you. There’s some sections here and there that would maybe appeal (breast massages etc), but mostly you’ll just end up wondering just what happened to leave me so broken. 
Finally, thank you again for taking the time to review.

Oh my God, this chapter...ok, I have to pace myself.
The couples stuff with Logan and Duncan is cute, and I do appreciate the fact that logan is trying to keep himself under control and not take up the offer of sex at every rest stop.  He may not know about all of Duncan's past incarnations or exactly what happened in them, but it is clear that he's trying to keep his husband from being unduly stressed (hence letting him sleep as much as possible).  We also get some little bits of info on what it means to be a jotunn in this world.  I liked the detail that they wouldn't approve of two men marrying but probably would have shown up to the wedding anyway, just because it was an excuse to drink and party.  I also like the idea that while he was born in the US, Logan still knows the others in his clan.
And then...Glykon appears.  This may be the funniest thing I've read in anything you've written.  I can't begin to tell you how hard I was laughing at the sheer absurdity of this scene ("Gaze upon the glory that is me.").  For anyone reading this after you've read the chapter, and who might have gotten a little confused, Glykon was a snake deity worshipped by a cult in ancient Rome.  The primary source on him is Lucian, a Roman satirist who wasn't a fan of the cult, and among other things portrayed Glykon as being a hand puppet, hence why the snake is wearing a hand puppet on his head here. Personally. Its Logan’s rebuttal that made me laugh until I teared up when I wrote it. Logan just no selling a god’s entrance was and still is hilarious.
The fertility blessing was an amusing idea.  I know the story establishes that Duncan has children, but given the personality Glykon has on display, I half-imagine a fertility blessing would result in Logan getting pregnant. Don’t give him ideas =p
Also just a mandatory reminder that this scene features a death god in transparent pants and a bright red jockstrap strangling a handpuppet.  I was reading this in the break room at work and had to try and keep from snorting with laughter.  Logan's a great audience surrogate there (I'm assuming he's pulling sort of an O_o reaction) and it gets even better when the cards go missing from his wallet. Yep, Its why he laughing hysterically for a moment. He doesn’t know how to process the sheer absurdity even when his husband is calmly choking out this serpent god.
Glykon doesn't even have hands.  All you need is a dream. Glykon’s weakness is hands.
Anyway, our regularly scheduled shenanigans have now been interrupted by Fomorians, so we'll have to see where that goes next time! Historic route 66 straight to Cali!

I somehow managed to add my story twice, and since there’s not an obvious way to delete a chapter without deleting the whole story, I just erased everything and put [add story here] in the chapter title. So whoever posts next, please just overwrite that with your story.

Aw, I liked Memories.  True, it requires some prior reading, hence why some folks didn’t “get” it, but I thought it was a really sweet story, and I don’t think you should feel bad about it.

I think one of the problems here is that nobody knew if there was going to be a party until you posted that question.  As a result, at least one story that would have been a chapter in the party, Invidia’s Winter Blessing, ended up being posted as a standalone story instead.
I’m having issues with the internet at my house (I’m typing this on my phone; for those wondering, this is why I haven’t responded to reviews or PMs, and why I haven’t reviewed Winter Blessing yet), but those issues should be resolved soon.  I will begin work on Meaningful Gifts and keep an eye on this thread.  If no one else responds, I’ll likely stop writing that and work on something else, but if there are other replies, I will do my best to have it done by Christmas Day.
