Sinfulwolf got a reaction from Anesor in How does one go about promoting a story?
I’m quite aware of the threads one can make in these forums for just such a purpose. But that really only reaches this audience here, and that really relies on having a catchy title to get someone to click to open said thread. I’m more curious how others go about promoting their work online.
I know everytime I post a chapter I post it on Tumblr and Twitter, and plug out a notification on the various Discord channels I belong to. But how do you folks go about doing it? And any tips or tricks for others to try and promote their stuff where promotions might catch some attention and draw in them Dragon Prints?

I don’t think that’s lame at all. Like lizards that can grow their tails back? And immunity is awesome as it is, but doubly awesome in a zombie apocalypse.

Pretty good, just remember the golden rule. Every woman is different, just like every man. What might work for one woman, might no be the case with another. There’s lot of factors to this stuff.

Yaaas! Let shit happen! Might I also add to that, let good and bad things happen to other characters? Our lives aren’t always about us. Sometimes we get involved in other people’s shit and we’d be douchebags if we went around making all that other stuff all about us. But maybe your character is a douchebag, so they make things all about them, which is fine, just make sure the surrounding characters react accordingly, and don’t all rip off their clothes on sight and throw themselves at the douchebag.

It looks primarily useful if you’re submitting magazine pieces or shorter fiction, from what I can see. I think, unless you’re submitting dozens of articles and short fiction monthly, following them on Twitter is probably a better plan than paying for a membership. A 7-day free trial isn’t enough time to properly evaluate their services, in my opinion, and while $5/month or $50/year isn’t a lot, it’s significant if you can’t deduct it as a business expense.
For me, since I write mostly longer fiction. I’m not sure I need a service to help me track submissions or check on open calls. If that ever changes, though, they do seem reputable.

Yes. This is what I’d do. Stay with the main group, with how they saw/heard/felt the smaller group’s possible death. Have it affect them fear and grief.  Make sure they are running by the seat of their pants and guessing. But have some guesses be way off, and they get injured/take losses because of wrong guesses. They don’t know why they hear a distant tank and keep wondering when it will catch them. but the tank is helping them indirectly. The main group has sparse and confusing input and IS hearing actions of the smaller group, but they don’t know.
This might be tricky, and a grid/timeline with major actors and sound/sight/evidence that crosses groups. I did a bit of this for my first real fanfic and had a spreadsheet with three hero groups and a villain in a magical gate maze/prison. But I swapped POVs between three characters and it was a nightmare to write.  I’m attached enough that I can’t judge anymore if it worked.

Could always just leave small hints that it’s been them all along. That way when they do show up, it’s a surprise, but it’s not Deus Ex.

I wish you luck @CloverReef. Though, writing M/M it’s gotta be obtainable.

Thanks for the plug for “Pony Dearest”!
More importantly, I’m proud of you for going back to fix “Twinpregnation”’s overpopulation problem. When two or more reviewers point out the same issue, that tends to suggest that it’s worth addressing, and it’s awesome that you are that responsive to feedback.

Two reviews. Since I just opened this topic… but they are quite new.
    The first, from JayDee
Glad my description was eye catching enough. That’s part of the battle right? Heh. So glad you enjoyed the little journey in a steamy affair that started with just a drink.
The spelling errors I went and fixed. Thank you for pointing those out. Though I feel like something got cut off here...

The second review is from TCR!
Excellent! It was fun writing this, and for a story that only focuses on two people, their interactions have to be entertaining at the least. Otherwise the whole thing crumbles so I’m glad you enjoyed that, and then the smutty bits of course. I did fix the dice thing to make it more clear that I wanted it plural. Some poor word choice on my part, and as noted, I fixed the spelling mistakes.
As to the fight… well I want to work more on my other stories before I go exploring what Lili does, and who she is.

Well, I never give feedback with the intention of the author to go back and rework the piece I’ve reviewed. I always just hope they keep in mind any points I’ve made… if relevant to their methods of writing… as they continue forward with other stories. We can be creatures of habit, and if something we do doesn’t work and isn’t pointed out as not working, we may well continue said trend.
Also, I find for stuff such as bands, you could use fictional, or if the character is unfamiliar have something along the lines of “looked like one of those boys bands that was popular a few years ago”. Or something to that effect. Our character may well not know the band.

Your welcome, I do try to leave reviews. Tis only polite. And I shall have to go check out Cold Snap. I’ll tell them you sent me.
Though… I can’t seem to find them in the Archive.
    Nevermind, found her.
