  1. I was inactive for a while, but now I’m back! I’m thinking of scrapping my Horrortale fanfic and rewriting it. I have a sense of where I want it to go, but I don’t feel like I can get it there without rewriting the whole thing.

      WB! Rewriting sounds like a good way to freshen up your inspiration. Good luck!

      Thanks, @CloverReef. ^_^ Looking back at it, it would be good to rewrite it rather than try to continue with how it already is.

  2. Okay, so I posted some really fierce pics of myself on Fetlife a few minutes ago, set to Only Friends of course. I’m saying this here because I can be certain everyone who sees this will definitely be over 18, and Fet is as strict as this site on keeping underaged peeps out. If anyone who has a Fet account wants to see, just message  here and I’ll give you the link to my Fet account. Once there, leave me a message saying who you are here on AFF forums and I’ll accept the friend request, but only those I’m following and any admins and mods since I feel okay trusting all the admins and mods here. The pics are far from NSFW, but damn do I look good in them. It’s been a while since I wore makeup, so I’m surprised by how well it came out despite the shit foundation that took forever to get enough coverage with. I need to get a better foundation like the Kat Von D one that’s super expensive , but lasts a while and provides amazing coverage with not too much effort.

      I always think that kind of thing takes a lot of confidence, I hope you get a lot of positive responses for your pics!

      Thanks! I have been. Haha~ It is only my face and the two pics are set to Friends Only, so not everyone on the site can see. Honestly, I think it’s the best I’ve ever done with my makeup in regard to the eyeshadow. I’m glad I took pics right after. I didn’t think about posting those pics until an hour later and went ahead and did it.

  3. I created a Patreon account and have some art and poetry up on there. Feel free to check it out through this link!

  4. Please check this(link) out! My beloved wrote the article and his writing is pretty good~ Don’t just take my word for it; read it to see for yourselves! It’s for the horror genre, a genre I love.

      I just fixed the link, so others should be able to get to it through there now~

      Sounds like he really loves what he’s writing about. It was well done, and there was actually a movie in there I haven’t even heard of! Kudos.

      Haha~ Maybe leave him a comment on it? I use Discus for commenting. He’d definitely appreciate some positive comments going his way.

  5. Wow, it’s been a while since I’ve been on AFF. I’ve been a bit busy, but alright. Personal update since the last time I was on here: I’ve recently found out I’m autistic, which explains a lot about how I’ve experienced life and makes me happy because certain things make a lot more sense now. I’m on Tumblr a lot lately, and love the autistic community there because everyone is so nice and supportive. Anyhow, I’m going to have my story Just Under the Surface on hiatus for a while. I’m also thinking of starting a new fanfic that’s for the show Sherlock.

      @BronxWench

      I don’t really care for labels except as an extension to describe oneself with clarity, but functioning labels are just used by NTs so often to discredit what auties have to say and not listen to us, whether it’s “But you’re high functioning, so you don’t know what it’s like for my low functioning child!” (Excuse me? But, honey, I’ve got a better idea than you do in all consideration. I’d advise listening to your kid.) or “Oh, they’re low functioning, so they can’t do anything for themselves.” (Darling, I guarantee that “low functioning” person has the ability to do things, just not how you’d go about it because they need a little help, not a damn warden.). It’s annoying and messed up. Of course, this isn’t everyone, it’s just the ones who are ableist. No, Karen, “You don’t seem autistic” is not a complement; that’s just denying me validation of what I already know. You wouldn’t tell a person with arthritis “You don’t seem like you have arthritis” just because they’re doing stuff you wouldn’t expect someone with joint pains to do, and that’s because it’s not exactly the same for everyone, yet autism is stereotypes into behind this particular way when it’s not really like that for everyone. So yeah, definitely pretty saddening we have to use those labels. Support levels would be a lot better than functioning labels.

  6. Wish me luck on tomorrow's test! I have two chapters worth of material to test on plus fifty terms to know the meaning of for the terminology part of the test with no word bank to look to for help! Honestly, I like not having any word bank because it really gives me a little challenge to see how well I actually know the words and their meanings.

      Absolutely! You’re preaching to the choir, sister. Even though in the fiction writing world, the rules of spelling, grammar, and word precision are a little more pliable, I am still a firm believer that you need an intimate knowledge of the rules before you can properly bend them over a barrel.

      Knowledge is power, but is is also a distraction. XD

  7. Today shall be my first day of work as a CNA! I don't count the orientation day because that was just watching a few videos and filling out a bit of paperwork. Anyhow, I'm very over the moon to start in a few hours. It's an eight hour shift, from 2PM to 10PM. I can hardly wait to start getting to know the residents and my coworkers.

      Congratulations!  Hopefully, your first day went well.  Almost everyone I’ve met who has gone into nursing “working their own way” has started out as a CNA.  The “trick” is to keep up your studies to work up to LPN, RN, and so on without burning out.  The clinical experience you gain will help you become a better nurse as time goes on.

      @Wilde_Guess

      I don't plan on going on to LPN or RN. I'm just going for PCT so my mum isn't on my ass about having a career that pays well. I plan on moving out of state far away from my current residence as soon as I'm done with phlebotomy this semester and EKG next semester so that I have the PCT completed to make things smoother when parting ways with her. I do want to maintain a decent if not good relationship with her. I just have to get a job near my intended location to move to once I've got PCT so that I have a steady income while finishing my books(at least one of them) and other plans I have.

      @Desiderius Price

      You didn't get that from my last comment? XD Thanks, Des. It really did. Haha~

  8. Wish me luck on my first phlebotomy tests of the semester! I'm excited for this.

      Phlebotomy has to do with drawing blood, @CloverReef. Haha~

      @Desiderius Price, thanks. Haha~ I'll try not to jab things up. Class is pretty cool.

      There also need to be more stories that don't perpetuate the misinformation that female virgins always bleed the first time having intercourse with a male. That happens because of inexperience and not knowing how to do it without hurting the partner; it's not supposed to hurt. I did my research on that. It's also going to hurt more if you're expecting it to, so it could just be the partner's mindset, in which case it's better to wait a bit and help her relax, get her mind off that. Of course, there's too much taboo on sex for actual facts around that in particular to be taught in a sex Ed class, so that misinformation will still get around. France has better sex Ed classes than America, as does Italy and other places. Oh, look, I ranted. XD

      If I’m writing blood, there’s something else going on.  See Bones http://original.adult-fanfiction.org/story.php?no=600108780&chapter=6 (my halloween story) for further details.

  10. This should make things easier to go directly to a particular chapter. Now I just need to update the story itself to include this link and everything will be all set.[Please go to my profile to click the link provided.]

  11. Chapter 3 of Just Below the Surface is now up! Reviews are appreciated. [Edit: Apparently, you must go to my profile page to see and click the links provided.]

  12. I have finally set up my About Me for my forum profile! In it, I also include a link to my first story on AFF, so feel free to take a look if you'd like. I appreciate any constructive criticism, and I would be extremely grateful to anyone who points out even the most trivial typographical error so that I may go back and fix it. I would prefer to be notified of typos via a PM rather than as a review itself. Speaking of reviews, those are also appreciated, though unnecessary. Anything to help me improve and refine my writing is appreciated. Thank you in advance!

  13. Merry meet, everyone! I'd just like to say that I am happy to be a member of the forums and wish everyone well. ^_^

      Welcome! We’re an eclectic bunch, to be sure, but I think the forums add a dimension to AFF no other fiction archive can quite match. :lol:

      I think so as well, and I've only recently been a part of the forums. I don't think I've ever seen a forum connected to a fiction archive anywhere but for AFF. It has a different feel to it that I quite enjoy. ^_^
