All right, so sadly it’s not happening at all for me on AFF (I’m not sure why, and I’ve given up wondering), and while I’ll never go back to certain other sites as myself, I’ve had no choice but to post there. it’s either that or lose my motivation entirely. There’s also a chance it might just be one slightly enthusiastic person, but…
I got 45 kudos overnight.

So, the answer to avoid a multi-chapter halloween fic is to add in a well placed flashback. Seems to do the trick, summarizing the mood (with a nice bonus of not having to add in the minor1 tag).

It’s official, our first over 70 degree day as it is currently 73 degrees out! There are buds on the trees and it’s time to break out the summer clothes! Woohoo! (Nah, I’m not excited or anything like that.

It was in the sixties here yesterday and again today. I’d like to say I miss the days when March still meant staring at huge piles of snow but nope, can’t say I do. I feel for you all though and I’ll keep you in my thoughts as I supervise the grilling of supper tonight on the patio.

So the petition against Trump making a state visit now has over 1.5m signatures. For context, the UK has a population of about 52m people who are over the age of fourteen.
This evening, I was off out protesting in Sheffield. For such short notice there were a lot of people, so many we closed the main road in front of the town all. At one point I was out on the edges, when a woman asked me what it was about, since she had just finished work. I told her; so she joined in.
Of all the slogans I heard chanted tonight, “Trump – better out than in!” is probably my favourite. Followed closely by the “Theresa the appeaser!” mentions from the speakers.
Also memorable is the moment when a girl stood up in front of the microphone and declared: “I am a muslim woman! And an activist!” to rapturous applause.
I’ve got to admit, I have (especially in my younger years) participated in many anti-racist and anti-fascist protests, marches and rallies, but this is the first where I felt protest and civic duty really merged together into one.

This is good to hear. I have many candidates for tits status. I was just told by one of my family members that it’s just a difference of political opinion and it’s sad that we’re willing to break family bonds because of it. I’m biting my tongue because I’m pretty sure I’m about to go nuclear on her. Seriously, your vote that puts my kids at risk is just a difference of political opinion? I guess she was outraged when I told her dad that I’d bring my kids and let him personally tattoo their numbers on them when the rumper started the Muslim registry and if they were lucky maybe he could flip the switch on the gas chamber too. Yeah, I’m pretty much over being nice for the sake of family unity.

Is anyone else, like me, looking at the news in sheer unbelieving horror?
Or has everyone taken the route of sanity and turned it off?
Refugees denied, families seperated, US residents denied entry… suddenly that TV section from the newspaper about the inauguration doesn’t seem as funny.
And I swear everyone around him.. you can see in their eyes that they know he’s completely and utterly insane. They just haven’t got a clue what to do about it.
This is some really, really bad shit…
and terrifying.

I’m terrified for the people of America, they are now living in a dystopian fantasy novel. After 7 years of living here in Bosnia, I am finally looking into getting my citizenship (I can have duel citizenship) on the off chance Europe decides to make traveling on the US passport harder. It’s a sad day for America.
