    Good news, got in several miles of walking under my new tire-blowout fitness plan.

      The more complete story.   On the way home this evening, heard a “whump” “whump” sound, growing, to the point that I couldn’t ignore it.  Tire blown out, tread separated.  So, after putting on the “doughnut” so-called spare, drove it to the shop and walked home from there.
