  1. Australian’s yesterday voted to have marriage equality.  About damn time.  Now it’s up to the useless politicians to actually put it into action.

  2. So, this morning it seems we pay the television license fee so that the BBC can invite dickheads on to Breakfast to justify shooting lions and elephants. No! F**k off!

Not the best start to the day. Gits.

*goes back to writing porn or whatever the hell this is*

  3. Well, I think I’ve nearly done it. Almost seven thousand words. It needs finishing off so that it’ll lead into the next chapter, and it needs several read throughs, but… I’m actually kind of happy with it in the main, I think. And despite the word count, there’s no way I can split this up. I’ve been kind of cruel with cliffhangers, sure, but I think splitting this would rightly get me some bad karma, lol.

Either this is the hottest thing I’ve written for a good, long while, or… *gulps* I’m completely mistaken, and I’ll get a healthy dose of reality when I post it. Please, please, please, let it be the first one.

Okay, I guess I’ll begin those read throughs now. *takes a deep breath*

  4. Well, today was just a big ball of shit. Here’s to tomorrow being super awesome for the sake of homeostasis. :hitthefan:

  5. I’ve finally caught up at least a little on my reading, and I’ve done my archive work, so now I’m gonna let myself write forthe rest of the evening, because Brienne is jumping up and down inside my head right now, and she’s all: “Thirty chapters! It’s my turn now! Write me!”

Gods, these three are demanding. To them, I swear I am just some weird version of Podrick with a pen… but it’s fun, all the same. Brienne’s pov or not, she’s got a surprise coming. The boys have something in mind, don’t they? Haha… :)

  7. It is 33 F out there, with wind chills making it feel like it’s in the 20s. That’s 0, with wind chills of -5 C…

*shivers* It’s still quite mild here, really. But then, Westminster is generating a whole lot of heat right now. The foreign office in particular. That man is about as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike. :( That poor woman.

  8. whelp… first storm of the winter has hit. Roads are closed, gusts of up to 20 or 30 m/sec in my area, highest gusts in the country hitting 60 m/sec, and now we have lightning and thunder…

  9. Ever feel like you don’t have a clue what you’re doing?

  10. I don’t usually like talking about myself and my issues, but I had to tell somebody. I just recently found out that I might have cancer. The doctors found a mass in/on my spleen about 6 months ago during an ultrasound relating to my recent surgery. Thinking that it may have been just a simple cyst, they ordered a second ultrasound for 6 months later (now). They’ve found that the lesion has gotten larger during that time.

I still have a lot more tests to go through before they’re certain: MRI/CT, biopsy, etc… but the waiting and the not knowing has made me a complete wreck. I have no motivation to write, and honestly, every day that I don’t know what’s going on is just making me feel worse. Nobody in my life knows except for my live-in fiance, and he’s not doing very well with the news either.

I’m sorry, I know I’m kind of rambling at this point… I’m just having trouble handling the situation.

  11. I am back from my travels. I wasn’t sure we’d get off at all, since my mother had a gallstone attack (requiring an ambulance and hospital admission in the hours before we were due to set off), but happily they eventually gave her the all clear. Do NOT get me started on my aunt, who swanned off to the pub while I went in the ambulance, despite the fact that it was quite serious at that point. And we weren’t even packed. So when we were home, I got zero sleep. But… I got there, and I got to see some good dancers, listened to some great singers, and I got dressed up as a pirate for Whitby Abbey to see a shortish play based on Dracula, and lots of people took pictures of me, which means I probably did it right (or alternatively, very wrong). Internet evidence to the contrary should be kept to yourselves, please. I visited some castles. I stared at the sea, in the rain, in the hours before dawn, because I’m kind of weird like that, and because I hadn’t even had chance to look at the sea all week until that last morning when it was raining. But mostly because I’m a smoker, and it was either stare at the sea or just stand about outside the hotel looking at the wet road. I chose the sea.

I might be back at work on Monday. I really can’t recall if booked the day off. I’ll need to find out before then.

No worries… I’m actually quite curious myself. I’ve never run into that limit before either. I should really start liking things more too. *g*

  12. I totally intended on writing a Halloween story but then Tahn put a plunny in my head and I ended up writing a Backdoor Politics short story. *shakes fist at Tahn* Maybe I’ll get to that Halloween story today. *sigh*

@SesshomaruFreak Sounds like you’ve been through the ringer there a bit yourself too with this kind of thing…  But there’s always fic! And slash! And now you’re here at AFF. Those things keep me sane most of the time anyway… *g*

@SesshomaruFreak Not to worry. I don’t even know her, like I say, so it’s not like I’m attached to her or anything. It’s just a bit disappointing. I hope she gets out of our lives quickly, and it seems like she will, so there’s that, I suppose. *shrugs*

Yeah… I don’t think so. She was all right at first, but now she’s got some other bloke on the go. When I was in hospital the other week, it was more important for her to be painting his walls than ask what was wrong with me. In fact, she called me when they were deliberating whether to take me down into theatre to tell me how ill he was. I told her not to call me again. That’s how it is. We’ve certainly learned a whole lot over the past month.

Well, Des, family politics are like this. We haven’t seen her for over twenty years. She needed someone to help her when she fled her abusive husband of thirty years, which we did. We took her in several months ago. And as it turns out, that warm family feeling just doesn’t seem to go both ways. She doesn’t give a toss about us, apparently even up to and including now whether we live or die. I’ve done with her. Completely.

@Desiderius Price Well, I kind of think it’s bloody selfish to sod off and enjoy yourself while your own sister might die of liver failure in the back of an ambulance, but hey… *shrugs*

Thanks :) Yes, she’s feeling better now. Gallstone attacks come on sudden, and go away just as quick. But they’re getting more frequent, and it’s hard on the liver. It’ll be cholecystectomy, sooner rather than later. :/

Ugh… I used to like smoking. These days, it just seriously annoys me. Somehow, I’m going to have to stop. Soon.
