  1. Very long time no see. Things have been crazy. Lots of changes started in March. Been a rough year.

Same as last round, the elders all seem to be determined that they are dying as groups. Another married couple within 3 weeks of each other, and so forth has been the norm this year. Moving into a bigger place and other things also been on the catch up list.

Sorry to hear the craziness continues unabated. :(

But maybe the move is a good start in getting to a quieter, more productive time for you.

The new place is great. No leaking/rotted out ceiling collapsing. Is all that matters to me. The boys have their own room, and I have a bathtub to soak my messed up hip. May still be holding the different families together all the time, but I am not afraid to sleep at night.

  2. I had no idea that anyone was even reading the stories to be honest. When we had 10 elders die over a few short months, I put it on the back burner. Truth is that without any idea people were still reading it, I completely forgot about it in the aftermath of sorting out wills, possessions, and helping get homes cleaned up and sold. When you have a full generation of old people dying, and five generations to deal with in most cases, writing takes the back burner when nobody reminds you of projects. Otherwise it is a very bad case of extreme exhaustion as often as not. I will finish it some day, no idea when though.
  3. Yeppers, crazy is essential for being creative so I’m proud to be crazy and welcome other crazy folks to the fun. Welcome to all the new people from a rather erratic visitor/contributor to the shenanigans whenever I have a day off from reality.
  4. Doing another dog/house sitting job. Waiting on results for the medical exam I got a couple days ago. For once things are bearably quiet . . . Almost enough to make me paranoid because it’s quiet. Think I’ve gotten too used to crazy of late.

  5. Getting in  the last of the parts to overhaul the ‘92 Jeep I inherited. Cannot wait to get that messed up vehicle on blocks and tear the front end down and rebuild it the right way. May have lost most of our tools, but we did have our emergency tool stash safe here at home. Resetting the double axles will be a pain in the butt, yet I’m looking forward to the challenge.

  6. I begin to suspect that people have lost their minds in this area. Late last night, a crazed streaker raced over my roof with police in hot pursuit, waking half the neighborhood. Seems there is some new drug out here that makes people hallucinate, strip, and even try to eat other people. Why??????

I hear you. I don’t know if the guy was good looking or not. Didn’t get a good look at him as it was dark out. He was scrawny from what I could see. Got the impression he was probably younger than my grown sons.

Kush, perhaps? It’s a problem where I live. And my wife (the social worker) says it’s very easy to get hold of a bad batch that can make you extra-crazy—or seriously ill. One day last month, the police had to take a dozen people from the park to the hospital because they got poisoned by the stuff.

I heard the cops talk about Flakka, so I looked it up online. Damned nasty drug from what I learned, George. The people strip and go crazy, and as they come down they try to go cannibal. The other top contender was bath salts according to the cops.

  7. Waving to all the new people who have joined since I last had a chance to get on here. Glad to have new writers and readers here. Hope everyone will enjoy their time here.
  8. Wowsers! I’ve been gone a while and totally missed all the new stuff happening on here. Whole new look for the forums it seems. If only I had enough time and felt good enough to go exploring beyond the main fall update. :)

  9. Corporate America seems determined to prove exactly how crooked and corrupt and dishonest it can get. The insurance company is trying to get out of replacing anything that was stolen.

  10. Out of the frying pan and into the fire. Storage locker got robbed twice in 3 weeks. Lost over 3 thousand bucks in tools alone. So screwed this year

I'm going to have to borrow gear, and replace 2 $600.00 a piece Canvas base camp tents before November 10th this year for the yearly base camp service I do for Hunters each year. I have my stomping grounds that have Mule deer and I'm well respected for my abilities as a chuck cook and real abilities to rough it in style. I'm so freaking furious!!!!!!

The insurance company that is supposed to make good on the stolen goods is already talking about how they can't honor their contract so yeah, sucks ass is taking on all new meanings. Plus, my roommate has 4 grand in pro mechanic's tools that got stolen and that's even harsher than my current fucked up situation because he needs the tools for his work!

  11. I filled this out for my most popular Fanfiction info stuff. Discovered you have to omit commas for numbers to make the numbering sectors work right to proceed with the survey. So if you have a 1000 plus mark on any number sector you have to make certain you do not use number correct commas. Overall an interesting survey to take though.
  12. would love to take a vacation from the real world. Too bad that is not realistic. I could really use the relaxation..

Thanks guys. Most of my need of a vacation is for real world craziness. This has been a really rotten year for me.

  13. Hope everyone is doing well on here. Still busy with real world responsibilities. Missing everyone, and getting to hang out in the shout box.

  14. The Kinsey and Kline sexual orientation tests are online. The best way to figure that out is to take the test and see how you rate on it being my main thought. There are short form and long forms of the sexual orientation tests beyond the most famous one that was administered in WWii as a means to learn more about human sexuality. http://vistriai.com/kinseyscaletest/ http://mysexualorientation.com/ Here is the Klien grid scaling information. http://sid.southampton.gov.uk/kb5/southampton/directory/advice.page?id=RsuF5ehfWvQ&familychannel=10-4

Thanks guys for thinking of me. My 24 year old son is a wreck and a half since he found his father dead several days after the fact. It is very hard to handle his blinding rage fits, and the pathologically lying girlfriend from hell that he saddled himself with for some strange reason. Been a very rough few months with cleaning up the disaster left in my Ex's suicides wake.

  16. Thanks for all the info you shared, DG. And All the authors for Fanfic net including myself were on the malware mirrors, Mistress Pen. Not sure how the hack sent us all to other sites, I'm simply relieved that all the mirrors were killed off so that people are not getting their computers infected any longer. : )
  17. Good to know. I'm glad this site isn't easy to hack. Read the article and it made me realize how lazy many sites must be to allow their selves to get hijacked all the time.
  18. Fanfiction Net has been hit already and other sites may also be targeted by these same people. There is a good chance that other sites like this one are going to be targeted. Wild Rhov is one of the people who are alerting everyone who has accounts on Fanfiction net, and so I am going to share her tumbler post because it has information on how to fight back by complaining to google, with the information on how best to combat this horrible group of fake sites that are full of malware and such also. Please read her original post and safeguard yourselves if you have a fanfiction net account. http://wildrhov.tumblr.com/post/138893541254/all-fanfictionnet-stories-have-been-stolen Here is part of Rhov's original tumbler post so people get an idea of what is going on here so they can safeguard their own computers and accounts if you have a fanfiction.net account that has been stolen from and could compromise the security of your own computers.. All of your stories, your profile, everything has been stolen and copied onto the following websites. (WARNING, these sites have malicious ads that carry malware! Use an adblocker!) http://www.thefanfiction.com/ http://www.thebuystock.org/ http://www.talkfictions.com/ http://fictionavenue.org/ http://thanfiction.org/ http://hmofiction.org/ They are making profit off your stories with advertisements. This is called spamdexing. Please report them. Theft of this hefty magnitude, literally millions of stories, should not go unpunished. Also, do not attempt to log in to any site that looks like Fanfiction.net but is not. In theory, they could steal your email and password! HOW TO REPORTGo here: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/spamreportform?hl=en Put in the name of the website (one report each) Write in additional details: This is a spamdexing mirror site to https://www.fanfiction.net/ and has stolen my profiles and intellectual property. Click “I am not a robot” and then “Report webspam” Report more by clicking the link on: Go back to the webspam report form. Writers and fanfic readers should report these websites that profit off our hard work. Stop plagiarism and art theft! ADDITIONAL WARNINGPeople have been warning me that these sites contain malware. Since I use an adblocker and run Linux, I was not aware of this. (Bonus for Linux, eh?) PLEASE BE CAREFUL WITH THOSE SITES. Only visit them if you have an adblocker on your computer. This is utterly malicious and must be stopped. People have suggested issuing a DMCA to Fanfiction.net. Perhaps they will act if we all do that.
  19. Took us a month to raise the money to get Tim out of the morgue so the damned cremation could get done! Death is damned expensive!

  20. Tragic that more presses/publishers are shutting down or being consumed by the big 6 who still exist. Glad to see that your publisher is willing to expand their genres a little more to encompass a couple more types of novel writing.
  21. Things will get better once the last of my infamous artist ex's brilliantly artful demise crap is fully resolved with the police sector. The man easily took a week to put together his death scene so it would be a thing of beauty crap. I am up to my nose in adjudication of evidence proceedings now. Great Thanksgiving gift that has continued to keep on giving ulcer symptoms ever since. Some items in the home are sellable, others were placed in my care because the landlord pitched a fit to the police that he needed his place back to rent to new people, and I got stuck with evidence that the cops reserve the right to come and retrieve to get said case adjudicated when they feel like dealing with it all. Amazing what threatening a lawsuit to the police department in this community gets some folks isn't it? Two truck loads of shit I do not want in my home because it doesn't fit, and I have to keep it accessible around the clock to the cops. . . . So once that gets wrapped up, and the cops give me the okay, I am going to unload all of it so fast the heaven's will spin in shock. At least Scribe has continued working on the actual novel while I am running ragged to deal with police protocols that seem to change faster than a bathing fanatics clothes. LOL. Sorry I'm so off topic for this thread at this point. Chalk it up to extreme frustration that I cannot start posting the story here until I have time to get it ready for upload.
  22. Thanks so much for all your help, Bronx. I really appreciate the time you took to answer my questions.
  23. Cool. It got bounced to him the first time he tried to send it. So we were both a bit confounded, but we did figure it was the net being a brat as it turned out to be. LOL. Glad you guys got it. Got to start splitting down the master again, as we are in editing stage with it. Is there a time frame before we have to post the first chapter so to speak?
