  1. Hello there, BlackMaiden here. I wanted to add on the responses. Is your story posted or no? (Link perhaps). Id like to understan this story format a little more. I usually write under inuyasha, or original ( though im not specific or have a favorite). I must say though, i do primarily write in shock and dark fic categories, yet im not limited to them. Im usually a writer but since my muse took a long vacation with my tech vices, im in the mood to beta. On what? Im not sure. But ill do my best. Any question can be qsked, and no topic is taboo. I hope this helps. And if not, since i like the interesting plot lines this can go in, ill do what i can to find a beta suitable for your need. My email is TanyaGoodwin1987yahhoo.com. check out my stories to see if you like my writing syles (ihave many though i write hhard drama and angnst the most), and id love for you to do the same. Email your thoughts and we can go from there. Thank you. Darkest Regard, BlackMaiden
  2. Hello there, I believe this is a valid point and, and in such, i wanted to give an overview on disclaimers. For instance, if you are using real life character in a story, but give full description in your 'original story' that no money is made, in any way, or what have you. Then perhaps someone cannot dispute it as 'forbidden" For instance, the plot is your, and as long as you give credit to its owner 'as this site demands', and gain no property or money, you should be absolved from any legal standings. If you make money, or claim responsibility to production or advertise, the you are under their legal contract of supply and pay. Hope this helps. Either way, do some research on the contracts of their name, so your not charged retribution or fines. I hope this helps, not an expert at all, but i hope this gives you a baseline Darkest Regard, BlackMaiden
  3. Hello there, Fist i want to say, the site looks good, probably better than i could create on your guys' budget. Have you thought of CSS codex, its a spin off on html but still an older codex. (Ill look into some update, test trial the and post them as i learn them if you want.) I wrote a recent post on codex to the forum admins stationg on the codex and how i first found it. I done some web developing and noticed css codex took less space than html. Hope that help your issues. Let me know if you need clarification or examples. Ill help any way i can. Darkest Regards, BlackMaiden
  4. Thank you for bearing taking the consideration of giving feedback on user ideas. And for this, i first want to say the new webssite looks amazing and i appreciate the clean up crews everywhere. I also want to say, that as a web developer and graphic designer, i totally understand how codex can pkay in making the site more mangeable, but also make it load slower, take up more space than budget and can cut back on advertising (main ssource of funding). So, without further ado, i came up with a few ideas that i hope u find useful, and if so, perhaps i can conjure upr some more ideas. First, i wanted to adress the space and memory usage. If ive learned anything on the site (which may not be that much . )ive taken a notice to codex. The site uses basic and advance html codexing in order to compell so much in one sight. I also have learned advance graphics were saved for advertising, which is very important. My solution is the CSS codex. Im sure u guys know what it is, but ill explain to those who dont. CSS is the text message of computer language, like lol, for laugh out loud. It cuts down on usage of memory, but allows all prompt related to html. I learned it through vampirefreaks. Many years ago i ran into this site that is for alternate lifestyle, but boasted better linkage through different codex, graphic, userbilaty and the like than even myspace. When i later studied codex, i learned other codexes that worked just as good as html, without using up space. Perhaps u can check out the site to get a feel of it. Its free but u can pay for more advance usages, however those are just visual or personal gain, nnot relativity. The creator is jet, perhaps u can get some pointers, and the many other internet savy people, and if u like the style, then work with the techies to make something similar good for ur site. If u dont like, still u might gain something useful or atleast some advertising. I wanted to share that, because i know how hard codex is on a site thats free. So i hope it helps, and if u need some digging done on codex and usage, i can send some examples. Hell, if u can make the site u want, spend less money, and make it more advanced in an ever growing internet, then by all means. I hope this helps. Good luck Darkest Regards, BlackMaiden
  5. How far off are so the tech people from updating the new format. I knew it was fairly new but wasnt sure hong long they done designing and the how many glitches were to be repaired once the site was made over. Atleast, adding small links like 'new'the buttons onto the page format would be easier than making a whole new list of functions. I know the site is still working on the resent updates, just thought id give some ideas to post later. Perhaps in the next six months, if they like the ideas and find them usedul. Good luck on the site Darkest regards, BlackMaiden
  6. Hello all, I was recently looking through my control panel applications and thought seen that their is link for recommended reading and currently reading, but none relate to what someone may be reading outside the site. I think that these areas should be updated by putting an 'or' section just under the current forms, giving one the opportunity to state a favorite book, story, author etc., from outside the site. Basically having two forms, one stating info on site authors (which already exist) as well as a second form on material outside the site. I also thought about adding a 'new' link. One that would tell the authors that they have new reviews or whatnot. This could be added just under the promps where an user can edit their stories. It could also be a small 'new'list or a number symbol, next to the review link or beside the ratings link on the story pages. !lso, i was thinking that live journal communities should be added right under the live journals link, and perhaps a link stating 'other' in the social media page. Or have a 'more' or 'add' link on all the pages that would make a small pop up screen to appear or redirect u to a different page, giving u a http:// box and a scroll down box to say where u want it located. Or to make it easy, a link can be placed on the control panel, saying 'other links' and this would be all other links not listed before. Just a few ideas. Other suggestion are welcome. Any ideas guys? Ive responded to my pm ideas and story following ideas (you may view my responses in those threads or from my profile). So ideas are welcome, if you thi nk im missing something. Thx for your patience. Darkest Regards, BlackMaiden
  7. THello all, I get like u this idea. I think that they should make a private message box in the user's control panel. That waay people can send responses to their reviews without filling up the 'review' link already on the stories info. For example, when an author gets a review, the system will automatically send aan update in the control panel or send a pre-recorded message to the user, telling them they have new messages, reviews and/or ratings. Perhaps at the top of the page, there can be a 'updates' or 'new!' Link and when clicked on, it can either open a small list of sub links or a new page altogether and have links on that new page offering new private messages, reviews, rating, etc. It could even have numbers orbe highlighted to include if something is recent or read. Also, a link could even be added on the reviews page saying to reply. As either in a sub box that expands when one wishes to reply or read all the options (kinda like the forums here) ar a like u by the review thhat says 'respond'that that redirects you to your personal messages. That way people can discuss back and forth without spamming. The site I personally like the secondd optio better (redirecting to pvt messaging) because this can be managed better by the user and the site admins. AFF can set a limit on how many messages one can sen and recieve, before it is deleted based on older messages. The site can make a link on the pvt messages page, giving u a heads up to either save (which can actually be a link to save on computer or sent to personal email) or be deleted. Just an idea, something easy for site to maintain (memory overload and spamming) and also keep the user happy. Darkest Regards, BlackMaiden
  8. I like this idea. I think another idea (that goes along with this one) would to have a personal message box, much like an email, thats give u a heads up about a new story or chapter about ur favorite author or story. Perhaps even make a 'fanu club' link, where people can join a u bulletin that the author post on any new works or chapters. Like an updates page, giving aff a little bit on social media outside the forum. This gives an author a chance to give bulletins to their followers without taking away the to need to use the forum
