Whenever I click to log in, it does, nothing, literally. There’s a blink and I’m still logged out. And since it looks as though I’m the only one having the issue, it might be on my end… even though I’m able to log in to other sites

I did! Afterwards, I was able to log in no problem and stay logged in. But something happened to where it logged me out (I keep my computer on, and put it to sleep when I do...) and for two weeks now, it will not log me in. I can log into the forum (of course since I’m able to post statuses lol) but that’s about it

About ten years ago, someone reached out and I’m guessing gave me a link to one of their stories, possibly for the purpose of me trying to be a beta? I’m not sure: I really suck at being a beta. As shown because I finally went through my files and found it. I’ve already asked my closest friends but it’s a no from them. IF ANY OF YOU HAS EVER SHARED A STORY WITH ME, PLEASE LET ME KNOW: this story is good and I would like to tell the author and apologize.

It has been a LONG while since I’ve been active here! And I don’t know how many this will reach but here goes. I’m back-ish? So much turmoil has happened in the past four months of my life and I think writing somewhat helps me. Well, it hinders more because I let events affect my writing.
Anyway. I’ve decided to post the latest story I’d been working on. Started the story back in October and still working on it. 13 chapters already so I’ll post a chapter everyday.

One of the things that I appreciate about this site is that the mods allow you to be an adult. Meaning: if there is something wrong with your story, they will notify you instead of taking matters into their own hands and fixing said problems before telling you. You get quite a few warnings that something doesn’t adhere to the ToS. I probably turned an ant hill into a mountain on one particular site but it was the principle of it all that made me delete my stories there.
I’m an adult: tell me if something is wrong with my story, don’t go in and make the changes yourself…

Oh, this wasn’t a jab to AFF! LOL I just reread the ToS of another site I was on and it specifically stated that they had the right to edit/modify story details to fit their guidelines. No warnings, no… nothing. I literally received a message from one of their story editors that my title was not capitalized correctly and they fixed it for me. I know, it’s a small and simple correction but it irked me. I remembered when my disclaimer wasn’t up to par and one of you told me. You didn’t fix it for me or automatically hide my story.

I have a smart home setup in my bedroom. As it is the master bedroom, it also doubles as my lab. Currently, every light fixture in the room is smart, and there is an Invoke for Cortana, a Google Home mini for Google Assistant and an Echo Dot for Alexa. I use them all, and compare the responses.
In the apps for these Artificial Intelligence (AI) devices, there is an option to group all the smart fixtures based on what room they are in, and to name all the smart fixtures that connect to each other. With the exception of the Echo Dot, which I have named after a character in Shippuden, all the fixtures have standard names, like bedroom light. Since they are all connected and managed by a single device, I want them to have names with a common theme. To that end, I’m taking a page from Bill Gates-era Microsoft, which boasted a number of conference rooms with names that ended with -tion, such as “procrastination”, “motivation”, “synchronization”, etc. These are just examples, mind you – and boring ones at that.
I want to change the names of the four smart light fixtures in my bedroom to something that uses that theme. However, I’m short on imagination this evening. Can you guys suggest some fun/creative/inventive/radical/etc. words that end with -tion? Thanks.

I was just about to point out what BW did, as far as LJ being bought by a Russian company. Then again, it wasn’t like my fandom had a devout following on there, anyway LOL
I heard that Twitter was considering a 250-character limit. I have no idea if this is coming from a troll source but I’ve seen it mentioned a few times. Still, 250 characters isn’t enough for us ramblers but much better than 140 or whatever the limit is now.

So, how do you tell someone politely to stop pointing out your mistakes in every chapter you post without sounding like an asshole…? Dude, okay, I know: three other people have pointed this out to me! Stop editing my fucking story! *grumbles*

LOL! So I should fill said chapter with improper uses of there, their and they’re as well as misspell a lot of common words. Gotcha.
I honestly don’t think they’re on this site, though. All I know is that it’s annoying simply because I didn’t ask for people to specifically edit. If I wasn’t made known of them beforehand then he would be my best friend! Yeah, I should just let him know politely that I know of said mistakes because I have three editors already and he doesn’t need to do that.

It’s not that I’m not grateful but it’s something I didn’t ask for. I have three people already putting the red marks all over it, I didn’t ask for a fourth lol Can I just post this story for the hell of it…?

I was actually devastated when I heard. Just the other day, I was telling myself that I would attend the next concert that comes my way, no matter what. And then this happens. I use several of their songs for “soundtracks” on my stories, particularly my Lyght series. Downloaded every single album they made except the most recent one (A Thousand Suns was okay to me; Hybrid Theory and Meteora tie for favorites, with Reanimation running a close second). I’m just hurt...
