:sniffle: Invisible, dead Loghain was in party when I got to Redcliffe... Dunno how, when I spattered his blood on his daughter.

uggh this is tedious, as I have party members who don't follow orders even as well as normal. And the troops are worse.

Fighting the archdemon for a while, got him down to halfway. Ballista not cooperating, but no real difficulty.... then it crashed yet again. Just got the been everywhere achievement, yay.

what? finishing the game doesn't get you an achievement? Where's my puppy and sword?

YAY! That's even better. You going to do any more, or rest on those laurels?

Oh, I'm still writing the final chapters, so I'll plod onward!

Yes, anything that reaches 65" of snow. That is a Wench of snow. I am mocking winter, you see...

My ISP stopped sending me emails at midnight. Seems the upgrades require pwd change. It would not have been a bad thing if they told us instead of watching no email come for at least 12 hours.
Just to make it more fun, upgrading my mail apps password has hit a really, really fun snag. It looks like it is downloading emails dating back a decade and tying itself in knots. At least 5k messages, including a lot of back and forths about my earliest fanfiction that I thought lost when tech issues deleted my archives.
Heading toward 6k emails… oy vey.

shavit, I wanted to delete a duplicate, sorry about removing responses.
I’m not quite mad enough to delete them all to save time. I’m deleting dupes and doing a cleanout of things I really don’t need like old news and subscriptions I never read. I’m hoping to reduce the inbox unopened at least 1k a day until I’m back at the bad-enough 6k I was at last week. Even my trash bin had 40k...

I don't write, but will gladly throw rocks at 'em

Stewed plunnie is quite delicious. I have certain plunnies that have been stewing in my head for years.

I have a large flemish giant for the occasion. She's quite sweet to most everyone, but can run off the unwelcomed plunny or two better than a german shepherd.

Wordcount doesn't have to be good, feel free to babble, sometimes my muse babbles about the next book in the series. Add chocolate, everything's better with chocolate, isn't it: chocolate dreams, chocolate hawaii, chocolate anticipation.
I probably should resist chocolate wheaties.

Dialogue. Dialogue eats up word count. Then I get to up the body count. eliminate extraneous characters, and let the survivors talk about it. While having sex. Yes... ::rubs hands together and reaches for the keyboard::

He wags his tail & annoys uncle, but that's about it. They could have copied his his code from DA1 & I would have been content. But you can't heal, buff, set zero tactics, or even pet him! There's no animal summons either, so that was part of simplifying combat. He doesn't attack very often (aside from charging too soon into a fight) all he does is die a lot as he has no abilities. LAME!
-
I was finally able to name my dog, and he has been decent in combat when I summon him....
-
He can't even take down an archer by himself. I don't know how they implemented him, but removing pets/ranger summons only reduces the combatants by 1 or 2 at most. I made a lot of tactical use of his howls and knockdowns and fun interactions. I actually can run across a battlefield faster, though we both outdistance the rest. *sigh* I may see if I can rename him Idiot or the like as he is not a good example of mibari breeding. I want a good dog,

Heh, can't do that to Fenris, I think he'd explode into a thousand points of lyrium light. It lightens up, but I thought this chapter was going to be character interaction and logistics... not a near death experience.
-
Oh, yeah, Fenris can be like that. Well, you know how it goes, good writers let the story take them where it wills!
-
Yeah the confrontation was powerful enough, I listened to my muse. right now, I'm doing damage control to get the plot back on track as this moved certain plot events some chapters sooner.

The Neverwinter free MMO endgame campaign looks to recreate the essentials of Ravenloft: Vistani, tarokka cards. and gothic mood. It took all my gaining time last night to install the 7gig update so I didn’t start any of the plot...

It was always one of my favorite tabletop campaigns, but gothic mood is harder than sheer violence.

Wonderful way to enjoy a heat wave: spend 8 hours trying to figure out why email took a powder 8pm last night. settings are fine, but cannot connect. whee!
(even the eweb inteface was down for 6 hours) maybe proxy settings? or I forgot to sacrifice a chicken on Bill Gates’ birhtday) email spotty until further notice

the servers are up. My email client cannot connect, it looks like 50% chance either my AV or firewall is blocking the login popup and the email client doesn’t have the login anymore. Pop3:por110 was supposed to go byby, but I’ve been using recommended port995 for a good while. or 2)I can’t help but think port 995 isn’t accepting connections at all, and my client never puts up the login window without the connection.
-
My ISP email ( POP) uses port 110, while my IMAP email uses port 993. Might be worth a try...
-
took 48 hours of pain, but it looks like proxy server settings that affected ONLY the email program, a BFE service, and new AV.
My ISP is discontining thePOP3 110 port and switching to 995. I spent WWednesdayon the phone with comcast. but late afternoon my mom’s comp was fine. so it was not the modem/router/sever settings. the authentication wasn’t happening and there was not way to manually change it in the settings. the popup was the only way and the popup never appeared as it didn’t make a connection… ALL other programs/updates/sites seemed fine.

My muse had a mean idea today...

Grounding a tale in reality is a fifty fifty make or break for readers. So, depending upon the type of situation that evolves, go with it, or write it out and if it ids too morbid, therefore messing with the overall feel of the storyline, toss it is my advice. If it throws everything out of whack, then it won't work no matter how real it feels.
-
It won't throw anything out of whack. And it really shoudl be a consequence of character choices. I just feel like i'm taking soemthgin away from a character who's had a hard life... but my muse is even telling me hOW i should do it... seductive bugger.
-
Well, if it will evolve the character in the correct direction, do it by all means. After all sometimes the hard knocks types are the most successful once they get a gut full of fed up energy packed down for a while.

Steam punk is now a genre? It is expanding beyond fashion in all directions, isn't it?
-
steampunk is victorian era set SF and have been in science fiction subfield since the late 80s. The Wild Wild West remake movie with Will Smith and Kevin Kline was in that style. The original comic book for League of Extraordinary Gentlemen was a SF/Fantasy steampunk remix of classic literary characters, though Well's Time Machine and Verne's Nautilis were source examples of the mix. (steampunk was a reaction to cyberpunk of the 80s)
-
(cont) the fashions came from SF conventions and books, like the excellent Parasol Protectorate

Twilight Zone realization:
When looking at a fic with psychic characters, and back in June I decided my lead had a peptic ulcer about to burst. Early this month a close family member had a peptic ulcer and emergency surgery, when there is no history in the family. Brother said I was not to write about these things again…

She’s recovering, though anything more than lurching to/from WC is a challenge. Her appetite is still wonky from meds (Ie she hated a recipe that tasted fine)
The problem is more my primary aide called out today and I’m physically miserable... My brother is harried because his car has been broken down since before she got sick and he needs daylight to work on it (and he has a date Sat)

One.. one batch of christmas cookies! Ah.. ha, ha!
- Show previous comments 2 more

LOL, I hear you. I actually make truffles and bon bons among other things as gifts each year plus a beaded xmas ornament for each person on my list every year. The custom color schemed antique bead work patterns each year get done throughout the year, but the candy making has to be done over no more than three- 14 hour per day sets so none of it can go bad before getting passed out and eaten. This year I am not making all the mini cheesecakes because I found a really delicious looking new can...
-
We got a batch of PB cookies, but holiday frazzle set in last night... fights don't get much done...
-
Sorry to hear that happened last night. I'm fortunate that I rarely have to worry about arguments due to making all of our gifts through the year. I make ornaments of all kinds for my friends and family over the year's course. The candy is the second half of the gifts we give.

So sleepy, but waiting for agency call back on vile slander...

I hope you find a way to clear this up. Trouble with some social workers in that they can get a bur up their arse, or go on a power trip, etc….
btw, I prefer my eggs scrambled, with plenty of fried bacon pieces in them
-
This wasn’t a social worker but an aide, basically unskilled. as any nursing certs could get another job and she clearly doesn’t have a calling. The other agency (supervisor and aide) vouched against the slander as did the other aide from the same agency. So there was only the slanderer and the agency that believed someone who decided she did want to be blamed for no call no show 3 days. (we’re leaving the agency after sunday night’s shift if I can find out what I should do) That was after the 1st version they told their agency that they could not work over the weekend because they lost their phone and car not working- ALL WEEKEND, and none of their 4 teen+ kids had a phone or car to help. This fast passed to the county overview, where it would follow my family and home forever. It seems to have worked out, but it was a miserable 48 hours where I could not sleep, eat right, write or work on my writing class… The social worker didn’t act on the slander, did the footwork to expose the lie, she’s a peach.
I like mine hard boiled with a little salt. And in many splendid things like greek egg-lemon soup and french toast.
Thanks!
-
That the aide wanted to get out of her work by blaming the customer….geez. I mean, I could understand car difficulties, illness, etc, if it were the first thing off their lips.
I’d think some letters of appreciation/thanks to the people who helped you out here would likely do wonders And cc’ing enough people so they’re in their personnel files for their next performance eval/raise would definitely set you apart! Just an idea….

The NaNo enthusiasm is there but writing is just NOT flowing this year.

my original novel project has been officially dumped for NaNo. It’s too slow and the new method is too mindful for a nano sprint. I’m going to have to pick and choose from my class. Scene planning like the class, makes me feel like a straight jacket.
I’m gonna see if I can finish my main fanfic project. I probably won’t as I have 6 chapters to go and the wordage will be more than can be done in 19 days.
But tonight I could not resist a diversiin and did a NWN2 sequel scene that links into an oddity the Tuesday MMO release. It’s not much of a plot but something my plot director has nabbed as a clue for a new release...
-
I’ve simply used my nano goal as that, a goal, to help motivate when I’m otherwise thinking about procrastinating. I’m not wanting to stray in terms of quality. So, yes, my goal of hitting 200k posted (just over 70k) is ambitious, and I figure the odds are 50-50; I’ll still be further along. Right now, about 60k left to go, though I’ve got 8k on the drive, ready for the next posting. I chose a number above 50k because it’s a comprehensive rewrite, and so it’s a really good “rough draft/outline” exists, some material will be brought over. However, there is a boatload of new material, I’m more than doubling the word count as I revise/rewrite (ie. turning one/two sentence scenes into entire chapters).
-
Geeze, I forgot how many subplots were advancing so fast in this story...

Good luck with getting it completed. I got in the habit of revising as I go because I drive me nuts if I am revise only. I still miss a few things, but I have less to revise during round 2. Cuts about a week's work from my revision schedules.
-
Oh, I did revisions and beta as I went when I posted the monster. But now I'm putting the story to bed, cleaning up and reformatting it. I've improved a bit and have to fix some things, like a slight addiction to helping verbs. I've also cleaned up descriptions just a tad. Story is long done.
This cleanup edit is taking about a month of 8hr/day so I think I've done like one flash fic this month.
-
Gotcha. I leave things alone for at least a year before I do the final edit. Those do take a lot of focus. Hope you do not suffer the same OCD to the point of almost killing the story difficulty I find myself fighting when I do a final draft revision. Good luck in getting it put to bed.
