@BronxWench, thank you so freaking much! I’m FINALLY logged back into my account!  I can finally update my stories here. Thanks for your patience and determination. 💜
Give the grumpy corgi a chin scritch for us. (“Us” being myself, and my kitties Woozle and Heiferlump.)

I’ve email you a new link for the password reset. It should work this time—the password reset links are being somewhat temperamental, rather like the disapproving corgi frowning at me from her favorite recliner.

I generally don’t mind surprises in stories, but I will say, there are certain kinks I avoid diligently when reading for pleasure because, well, they’re not pleasant for me. So, while I wholeheartedly endorse not spoiling a good surprise, I do like to see trigger tags because those sorts of surprises are not enjoyable in the slightest.

If you still have access to the email that you used to register with, your best option would be to email our archive mod at tos_team@adult-fanfiction.org from that email, and she’ll send you a link to reactivate your account and reset your password.
If you have lost access to that email account, you can send our archive mods at the same address, from a new email account, telling her what the old email associated to your user profile with us was, and she’ll be able to update your email (I’m almost certain I’m not remembering that incorrectly  ) and then send you activation and reset links.

Hmm….Halloween story, where the happy ending is the tragic ending.  Not sure how to pull that off in the original universe I tend to write in.

That can sound like fun. I’ve had tragic endings to stories, but not really nightmarish or having to live forever with suffering. I suppose technically my most recent story has an aspect of this, but through a multiverse perspective.

I think the build-up versus straight porn might vary depending on fandom, or on the individual author. Me, I like a lot of plot with my sex, so I look for build-up, and an actual storyline when I’m reading. Even when I’m writing, I prefer there to be a plot, and some build-up to any sex.
From the perspective as a woman, she won’t necessarily get tired after the first orgasm, but the next orgasms will cause increasing sensitivity and eventually literal discomfort can occur. So, if she is having sex with multiple partners at the same time, she might not have an orgasm with each partner, or she may very well reach the point of snarling at the hapless partner who triggers that discomfort threshold. Realistically speaking, that is...

I like both, but if the story is mainly meant to be erotic, the writer has to know what they’re doing for buildup to work well. It can be super-sexy if it’s done right and super-dull if it’s done wrong.

Yes, either via immortality or some kind of endless loop. Or it’s clear that the nightmarish quality of the ending is not static and is going to get measurably worse over time, and there’s nothing the MC can do to stop it. I, um, did that too. (sorry Abbe)

Curious how you define “dash of infinity”. As in the horrible ending goes on forever?

Well in the context of the question, I’m mostly speaking of stories that would be posted here on this site. Which would be more close to straight up porn. I haven’t encountered too many stories on this site that have a lot of build up. Usually sex happens in multiple chapters, but often they are different sexual situations.

But I’ve thought about my own writing where a female character is having sex with multiple partners. Partly I was wondering in terms of sexual performance. Most men get really tired after a single orgasm, but it usually takes a while to recover. So is it that way with women? Haven’t had the opportunity to actually test the theory in reality, but it wouldn’t make sense if a woman has the capacity to have multiple orgasms that you would get tired after the first one.

I think it depends whether you’re reading straight up porn or erotica, since erotic writing is more character driven, and that tends to be what I want from my fanfiction, when I consume it. In any case it’s extremely rare to see multiple orgasms written well, but that’s just my opinion.
I’m not sure you’re asking the right question. If I’m answering this as a reader, and you’re the author, I’m countering with: how did you hook me into your story? Was it the promise of porn/sexual gratification, or something more? Did you make me curious about the consequences/aftermath or make me want more? Because those things are the job of the author. If you hook me right, I will read it.

Tragic endings with a hint of nightmare and a dash of infinity.
Wow I’ve written like three of them, just like that. Damn.

It depends on genre mostly. I like endings where the character breaks even or if they’re doomed they at least helped turned the tide in some small manner even if its just that they gave hope no matter how small or fling a light into a darkened future. Hope is fickle like that but like a stubborn ember hope is so very resilient just when you think you’ve snuffed it out.
Some stories there can be no happy ending. Like in dark settings.
That said, I hate tragic endings and try to avoid them even if the characters themselves don’t see it. ( I think that might be part of reading so much greek tragedies in high-school)

    Hi, InvidiaRed
I would be interested in reading Doctor McCoy’s “Medical Officer’s Log,” myself.
Damnit, Jim!  I’m a Doctor, not a…  Oh fuck, I am a doctor!  Okay, whip it out, and let’s see what you’ve caught this week…

To be fair, Kirk did start the whole boldly going where no man has gone before thing and Spock is likely keeping the ship logs professional.
Nevermind the enterprise would be hook up and fling central for everybody aboard the mini city flying through space.

    Hi, GeorgeGlass.
By itself, no.  While the spaceships from the Star Trek universe keep Captain’s and Ship’s Logs, other ships of notable size also keep Ship’s Logs, and the ship’s Captain might also keep a “Captain’s Log” or journal/diary of personal observations he or she doesn’t wish to keep in the main ship’s log.
Seeing the erotica/pornographic bent of this site, I would also assume that the “Captain” just might be well-endowed (or tragically not endowed,) and was (at least trying) to get “busy.”
    Cheers!

For me, it depends on what I’m writing. Publishers tend to want happy-ever-after endings or at least happy-for-now endings. So, if I’m going to submit what I’m writing to a publisher, I try for at least the HFN ending.
When I write for myself, I’m much less inclined to write happy endings. I’m never quite sure life has a happy ending in most cases, although I’m firmly in the camp of life having happy bits throughout. But I think how people cope with adversity that doesn’t resolve neatly is far too interesting not to write it.
