  1. I apologize, however due to repeated ToS violations and warnings, the user has been removed from the site. Please note that she has been on AFF since 2006, has been contacted several times, and the staff has had several conversations with her in regards to the previous ToS violations. There are to date: 5 documented instances of unauthorized advertising, starting 07/2010 5 documented instances of review damands, starting 07/2010 1 unauthorized poll in story After the last instance in August of 2011, she was suspended for a period of 2 weeks at which point she was advised that this was her last warning. She was made aware that the next ToS violation would result in her removal from the site. It was brought to our attention recently that she was editing a story to bump it up in the chronological listing on the update page to advertise the fact that she was leaving AFF. After careful review, it was determined that the report was indeed correct. While we wish her well in her future writing endeavors, bumping a story with no actual update at the expense of other Author's who have actually posted new content is not acceptable and a violation of our ToS. We stand by our ToS and our warnings - As such she was removed.
  2. I will quote Lisbet Adair from the other thread because I think it sums this up perfectly!
  3. *gasps* Wait, people read ToS? What a novel concept... And yes... that was sarcasm! I agree wholeheartedly Lisbet!
  4. I was talking to a co-worker today who asked if I'd read 50 Shades of Grey. When I said I did and asked if he knew that a story like that was posted on a site that his teenage children could read he blanched....
  5. Prompt: Lotus Please remember to follow the rules as outlined here: Rules Happy Writing!
  6. It can be very jarring if I'm reading a very erotic scene and all of a sudden I'm jolted to reality by reading, "Her tongue flicked his frenulum as he played with the wet folds of her labia." I'm immediately transported back to middle school and sex education
  7. The biggest, most important (and most likely to squick someone) should be in the summary, lesser tags can be placed at the beginning of the chapter or you can place a note to see story for complete list of tag in your summary.
  8. AFF Community Forums>Please Read!>FAQs>Archive How To's>Story How To's>How do I edit story codes, disclaimer, or other story properties
  9. To some extend it comes from the fact that our name is 'Adult Fan Fiction' but I think Bronx said it best. Some of my favorite stories on here have no sex or it's just hinted at. That's not to say that we don't have a ton of smut (cause well we do) but there is no restriction that stories HAVE to have smut
  10. Hence why we are an amazing alternative - We are always around and answering question I own the site, DG is my head admin and the moderators and other staff have been active on this thread as well!
  11. Oh, and they must be properly disclaimed http://www2.adult-fanfiction.org/forum/index.php/topic/3560-what-is-needed-in-a-disclaimer/ http://www2.adult-fanfiction.org/forum/index.php/topic/10569-basic-core-disclaimer/
  12. There is only one restriction to real person fiction and that is that the people involved cannot be under 18 years of age. While we know that some people prefer that fan fiction is not written about them or based on their characters, we do not restrict unless we receive a cease and desist notice. At this point in time, the only person to have done so is Anne Rice, so everything else goes so long as the above is followed
  13. You make very good points Xenobia! There is a very big difference between a PG-13 sex scene and a porn. I know there are several times that I've gone to see a PG-13 movie (which is basically what my understanding of their M rating is after they had to scrap the MPAA rating system) and questioned if it was truly something that I would allow a child of mine to see at 13. Then again I also tend to be more conservative than many people nowadays, preferring the times when kids were kids! As an author, I feel for everyone from FF that is trying to hurry and back up their stories before something happens. I know from when they did it the last time that they use a very broad brush and don't look close, just delete... But, as I know I've said before - Welcome to everyone coming over and please be assured that you won't see anything like this from us happen
  14. LMAO - I remember when it happened as well... Many people do realize and just don't give too diddle squats cause they didn't actively moderate or remove 'em as they were posted.
  15. *shakes head* I know they have ToS - and yes, on occasion we'll mass report a plagiarist to make them take note, but just cause you don't like a story? Bah - Ah well, let 'em come here and try that... I'll bring out Bob!
  16. Guest - Our running theory is the whole 50 Shades - It's getting a lot of press and people are finding out that such raunchy (delicious, but raunchy) fiction was originally posted on a website that teenagers can visit. I think they are running scared personally...
  17. It's not a bother at all DG is just the very very overworked Admin that runs the database and that type of thing, she tends to be honest to the extreme because it saves her time in the long run as opposed to sugar coating things! Creating a different subdomain is a very time intensive process. It was originally done to reduce the stress on our bandwidth and our database (old old old, cranky database that it is, DG has the magic touch) not to make it easier to find thing honestly. We always had top level categories and what not, but the subdomains. We are still in the process of fixing and moving stories that were put in the wrong subdomain to begin with, as well as fixing stories from our famed crash many moons ago, so to take on something like that at this time would overload DG and I quite prefer her brain in a non-fried status (Works better that way I find) I do appreciate the suggestion though! If you have any others, please don't hesitate to share them. It may not always be possible, but we will always read and consider them!
  18. Wow... I can't even begin to say how happy I am to have you all here and so many positive words as well! I hope that with this large infusion of new blood that we can see some of what we've enjoyed in the past (Lotsa reviews, etc) start to happen again. Remember the people follow examples, so make sure you are reviewing as well!! Please reach out to any of the staff if you have questions and we're always glad to be of assistance!! Have fun all and WELCOME!!!
  19. One thing to also keep in mind for everyone migrating - While we are an adult fan fiction site, you are more than welcome to put non smut here, other than the basics like no stories about real people under 18 and our other guidelines, we don't restrict postings
  20. The system may be running a little slow due to the influx, but you won't be able to log on until you verify your account via the link sent in email.
  21. *nods* While I agree completely that it sucks as FF set the expectation by not moderating that they were okay with the content, however, it's also the users responsibility to ensure they are following the ToS of the site Hopefully people can save their work in time!
  22. Yes - Please also make sure that you are clicking the link in the verification email
  23. They've already started, I remember when they did it 10 years ago and I know they will do it again. It comes down to being a legal issue - They do not have the appropriate protections in place legally.
