Yes, unfortunately the site is still in read only mode. It seems that at the moment you can post things like reviews, but they don’t stick, so it would be safest to just await an announcement from either DemonGoddess or Manta2g, who are in charge of the operations. 

No, you are constantly posting irrelevant post in a thread that has to do with Tech support for the Archive. So, I am hiding the posts that have NOTHING to do with the thread. For example, the last post I hid from you, you were discussing my gender and pronouns, which are of absolutely NO concern either for you, nor for this thread. 
This is not abuse, this is staff trying to keep control of a thread that has to do with an ongoing issue with our archive. Simple as that. 
We are not bullying you, we are not abusing you, we are simply trying to maintain order. And if you continue to post irrelevant posts on this thread, I will continue to hide them.

I figured that. No worries, I’m happy to wait. It’s helpful though because it’s given me time to write more stuff that can get posted when it’s back up.

Curious because I see there’s all kind of discussion on this thread I don’t know I’m going to go through it all.
Also, I checked the main archive and it seems like I can go through the main process of adding a new chapter if I wanted to.
I assume it’s still in read only mode?

We’re seeing this same thing with reviews. You can write a review, and post it, and the site will say that it uploaded, but the review is not there. If you add a chapter, it will appear to work but the chapter will not actually be posted.

I reiterate: This thread is for discussing the issues ongoing with the Archive, NOT for arguing about the merits or lack thereof of our competitor’s site. The previous posts (following warnings from staff members) have therefore been hidden (pending further action), and any further discussion on the matter here could result in moderation action.

I just went and left a test review on one of GrayNeko’s stories. The archive told me that my review was posted successfully, but when I looked, it hadn’t been. So indeed people are leaving reviews, but they don’t stick. 
Is there a way to shut off reviews so that would-be reviewers aren’t wasting their time?  

This is not the place to argue about the workings of another fiction archive. Please refrain from starting arguments in this thread.

Who said I was mad?  Sure, I’m peeved about the persistence.  But, there are ways to find out how they do they things, which is what I’ve been spending time ferreting out.  That’s actually the thing, finding out, HOW exactly they were doing what they did, so we can guard against it.  I can tell you it was a brute force hack.  I can see that in the logs.

I do hope things are able to be resolved soon. It’s unfortunate that whoever is hacking the site seems to have such a need to screw with it.
The upside though is that I have time to write more stuff. Finished off an entire chapter of a story and starting on another that should finish off the series.

It’s not currently possible to upload a story. The site had a hacker try to make problems for the site.
The people in charge of fixing it are working on the issue.

Our coder and admin are working as fast as they can to resolve the issues with the archive. We don’t have an exact date. It’s a very involved and time-consuming process, and they are devoting a great deal of their time to this site, in addition to their day jobs and families.
Keep an eye on the home page of the archive for updates.

Both Manta and I are working on exactly that.  Of course, right now, IRL job is interfering a wee bit, as I’m having to pull extra hours yet again, so that slows me down.

Unfortunately, we got a series of SQL injection attacks a couple days ago again, so we are both doing a deep dive.  Manta into code, and me into general data.  In the meantime, you can still read, forum posts still work, and we will try and get this sorted as quick as we can.

I’m prone to speculation when trying to figure out the motivation behind our attacker, and the “crusader” crossed my mind as one possibility—somebody who thinks the ends justify the means.  Hypocrisy is great in fiction, not so wonderful in real life.
