First off, author's notes aren't meant to be discussions or reviewings of the story. Secondly, the database is very old and very unstable even with all the modifications done to it. Right now it's about as stable as it can get. Consider the fact that this archive is already so much better than it was before. Other than that, this "techno mumbo jumbo" that you're talking about is what makes this so much of a better site now.

Actually this is a good topic. I had to deal with this with one of my girlfriends. Like you, I am a lesbian. My mom is a mod here and she knows I write slash. (I honestly have no idea whether or not she actually reads any of my stories >>) My girlfriend and I write slash fiction both separately and in roleplays that we post on the internet. As for my father, he supports me he just doesn't want to see it. It's not his spiel. That's all. Hell even most of my friends support slash. And if your girlfriend is stupid enough to think you're turned on by these stories well good for her and her stereotypical thinking. Really now, if she can't support you, then she's not really meant for you. I understand the whole "I love her and I don't want to leave her" bit, I was like that too. But then you also have to remember that real love is unconditional. (Oh God I sound like a fairy tale person) As for your parents, you just have to hope they understand. If they say good job, then yay them. Otherwise, just remember that you might have traditional parents who don't believe in slashiness. But if they support your lesbianism than they'll likely support this. I hope this helps you get a little more confidence in it. Really all you can do is tell them and hope they all understand.

There is something you obviously do not understand. The archive is like a library. Unstories are like those crumpled papers that the janitor goes through the library and pick up. In this archive, the mods are the janitors. Unstories are the crumpled papers. Stories are like those really nicely bound books. Requests serve their purposes best in the forum because then they don't take the space reserved for the stories. And please understand that the staff is not treating you poorly. Everyone gets the same treatment. Even the mods. If a mod were to post an unstory it would be deleted. If a normal member posts one it is dumped. Period. End of story. And please understand that to change the outdated archive program, we would have to delete every story because we are working with limited capabilities. The fact that it has improved so much with the program it uses is amazing in and of itself. But it can easily be returned to the horrible organization it had before. But doubtless everyone would be very angry about that. Also, I would like to point out that you can choose to copy and paste if your computer makes it take forty-five minutes to upload it. I know of no site where it actually takes that long unless you have poor internet connection or a very slow modem. And if you believe it's a waste of time then you don't need to do it. No one needs to upload anything. It's just nice. As stated in the TOS the mods can delete a story without warning and/or permission. Please remember that the rules are there to be followed and no one gets them bent for them. They never have and never will.
