Ah, build-up... I seem plauged by the question of "why can't I just get too it?" so often it effects my output. But from what I've learned, the more ridiculous, drawn-out sexual content you want to put in while still having a "story" the more build-up you're going to need. Some on AFF are masters of the get to it, stay on it, keep with it style, but when one of them pulls it off, it turns out they've just smuttified the plot of the actual seris. but 3000 words sound perfectly honest for a good-multi chapter fic based on your own work. It's tough to slog through the first ten pages of setup to get to the mind-blowing snogging you had planned a week ago, but hey. that's writing.

Oh, hell (thinks) Things I find arousing when written down but would be slightly "overput" in real life? Get your notebooks. I seem to constantly take bits where sexualized violence rears its head, but I as a personal, is generally considered unusually neutral to both. *shrug* But as long as certain topics are presented in a frank and adult environment where everything has "fiction based spank bait" stamped on it and no ones accusing one another of using Asuka Langly Sorhyu as a symbol for [insert celebrity name]'s rape fantasy it's a legitimate bit of literature. although Pokemon rape fics still make me take an extra step back.

However, if we're dealing with some traumatic, attempet serious mass of phony literature revolving around some magical character that hapily defys the rules of whatever universe, I'm not even going to bother finishing it. Then there's the total AU marvel that you wish was updated weekly and pour over several times a month, those are just fun. There was a beyblade fic on FF titles Hallowwen something that neatly fulfilled the later, and "Takato's sluts" was a good case of the former.
