I saw on here that you were going to try and have a Complete/WIP field for searching for fiction (WONDERFUL IDEA!!) I was wondering if a notification system would be unreasonable? Like you can (when you review) click a box and have an email sent when the story is updated? I think fanfiction.net used to at least, have a feature like this. But it would be so helpful to keep track of story updates, especially ones that aren't updated very often. I know this is a lot of work, its just an idea. Something I know I would like, and I figured it couldn't hurt to ask! ^___^

I hate repetitive words too! and I get so mad at myself when my stories end up like that, but it's hard to come up with different words to use while avoiding the nasty ones.

Err....I feel like it is necessary to point some things out here, for my own peace of mind. I agree with the OP. And...you know...I was raped a few years ago. I've been in abusive relationships, many since then, and yeah I'm messed up but I deal. It didn't destroy my life, if I had let it the person responsible would have won, correct? I'm not arguing with the fact that people aren't the same after, you aren't but really...everyone deals with it in different ways. I feel that it is VERY unfair to say fiction of any kind causes repercussions in the real world. Does reading Hannibal Lector mean you're going to go take a bite out of the next person you see? Writing is a way to express our fantasies, our deepest darkest fears, and all the dirty little thoughts we are curious about but would never, ever do in real life. I am bothered once in a while by the ads I see on sites, and I know they aren't the forum owner's fault usually...they often outsource to a company, or have no control at all. (and shinigamiinochi, I don't mean any offence to you, or your cousin. My situation was obviously different, and I just wanted you to know that I don't think everyone just skips off into the sunset a week later. I have a lot of issues but they are more subtle then people would probably expect. Just wanted to make sure you didn't take my post the wrong way)

there is a good series called "My Best Friend's Brother" that is long and well written, its het. several sequels and stuff...

I agree with alot of the words people said they don't like, but...what words are you supposed to use instead? That is always the hardest thing for me when I'm writing smut. I don't want to get repetitive but I don't want to use tastless words either. Maybe there should be a list of words you LIKE to hear!

I used to post on fanfiction...and the person who told you that you could post adult material was right and wrong, you can until someone reports you. Fanfiction is....not a happy place. I won't post there anymore, and I removed all my old stuff a long time ago because of their attitudes. Its messed up. Someone got nasty and tattled. You poor thing D:

I used to work in a truck stop with a little convenience store/gift shop...it was BRUTAL. My managers would get SOOOO angry with me when I'd have to call asking for more change, when my first 5 customers for the shift bought things under $5 with twenties, or fifties, I had a guy buy a pack of gum with a $100 once. I had to call my manager to bring me more cash before I could accept his payment. God I hated that about retail. And once when i was in a dollar store I had like 7 things but only had a twenty, and the clerk looked at me with this OMG look... I laughed and asked if she wanted me to pay with debit, she looked so relieved, she didn't have enough change, and it was no trouble for me but it looked like it made her day! And I get so mad when i go into a store and all the clerks are too busy gossiping with their friends and texting and stuff to help me, when I actually plan to buy something. I've thrown some clothes I was holding down on a table and stormed out on several occasions. If you were helping another customer, I would be happy to wait but they were just gossiping. Grr made me so angry... Another time I had the clerk snap at me and FREAK out because I finally found a bracelet that I had wanted for a long time, but I wanted to try it on to see if it was scratchy on the inside, but she flipped out on my so I put it down and told her off. That made me very mad. I was going to buy the jewelery and maybe some other things for presents but I just walked out of there. makes me not like shopping....

Well.....you're kinda messed up.... But a very good writer. lol. It was well written, and that really stood out, amongst all the gore. I'd recommend it to anyone because it was very original and well thought out, not for everyone of course but it was VERY well done!

Fandom: Original Name of character: Adelrune (last name undecided) Race of character: Vicscoleria, which is a cross between a Vampire and a Valkryie.*** Age of character: 579 (looks 18 though) Height of character: 5'6" Weight of character: 123 lbs. Wingspan: 6" Brief background of character: Adelrune was born circa 1430, the offspring of a vampire ancient named Eran and a Valkyrie named Svava. Svava went back to Valhalla after giving birth of Adelrune so she was raised by Eran and the other vampires in his coven, mostly a female vampire named Elizabeth. Character's position or job: She works for the Skrovit Carstvo the Serbian-Romanian vampire lords, it is her job to lure in rogue and posessed vampires, and any other jobs they assign her. Strengths/Skills: Adelrune is extremely good at luring vampires into traps, and she is rather seductive, especially when she wants something. Are these skills typical of the fandom? If not, why?: Her ability to trap vampires makes up for her physical weaknesses. Weaknesses/Bad habits: Her temper gets in her way, and she was raised without wanting anything, so Adelrune is a little spoiled. She expects to get what she wants and it is unintentional, but other people's feelings aren't at the forefront of her actions. She isn't the strongest physically, even compared to others of her kind. Distinctive features, if any: Her wings are black and feathered, with a red sheen. Are these features unique in the fandom? If so, why?: Grey or brown wings (think the spotted brown wings of an owl or a hawk) are more common, but black wings aren't overly rare just less common, even though her race it's self is less common. How often do vampires and valkyries get it on?! How does your character get on with those around him/her?: She gets along fairly well with others, most of the people she spends time around have been in her life for many years, and are used to her and understand her fairly well. What does the other characters think of your character when they met her/him?: She gets mixed reactions, many vampires don't come across Vicscoleria very often, so as a rarity she is the object of attraction until they get to know her, when they see she has little interest in them. Older vampires find her endearing, as they are usually good friends with her father Eran, or they think that if they impress Adelrune she will help them advance their standing through her powerful father Eran. ***Vicscoleria are a cross between Vampires and Valkyries, they look more human except for their large wings which they can retract. They live off blood, preferably human blood. They are immortal, and like vampires they are extremely difficult to kill. They are nearly indestructible, but no where near as strong physically as vampires, although they are stronger than humans. Their bodies mimic a heartbeat when they have blood inside their bodies, to lure vampires in, their blood can also be drunk but when the vampire has nearly emptied their body a venom is released instead which paralyses the vampire. Other details are under construction!! Any suggestions would be WONDERFUL! So any suggestions would be wonderful, I tried to balance out her strenths with equal weaknesses, because I really don't like characters who are really really awesome, without any flaws. But its very hard to create one. So please! LOTS OF SUGGESTIONS!!!

Hello everyone I am just getting back into writing after a several year break. I write original fan fiction, and I am looking for a beta for my new story. I think my grammar and spelling are decent, but we can always use some help right? I'm looking for a beta who can offer constructive criticism on the actual content of my story, and help smoothing out the flow, and extending the plot I'm flexible about how long it takes you to get through my story, a few days would be fine normally, I know everyone is busy! The story I'm writing now is untitled, but its vampire/other mythical creatures. The main pairing is M/F, but there might end up being M/M or F/F pairings with secondary characters, haven't decided yet.
