  1. So, a good friend alerted me to this app, available from the Apple App Store. (The Google Play link returns as a 404, so Google may have taken this app down.) But, from the developer’s own words: Link to the app: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/fanfic-pocket-archive-library/id1047221122 The friend who alerted me says AO3 isn’t willing to do anything, but they have requested a takedown for their stories that were scraped and published in the app’s library. Let’s see how that goes. Now, here’s my little rant. The app provides for an optional monthly subscription service, and as we all know, the idea of making money IN ANY FASHION from fan fiction violates copyright law, vis-a-vis the Fair Use Act provisions by which we all get to write our fan fictions. The developer asking for “tips” is also a clear violation of Fair Use, in my opinion. It’s why we don’t allow Patreon or other self-funding services to be linked on AFF’s archive. (Obviously, AO3 has a more generous interpretation of the law than I do, but then again, they have a deep-pocket not-for-profit backing them, and a legal team for when issues arise, so take that for what you will.) I took my stories off AO3 some time ago because I find their moderation uneven and biased, so I might not have a dog in this particular fight, but it’s worth sharing, I think, in case any of our authors want to check for their works posted on AO3, and scraped by this app.

  2. “Tribal Warfare” is posted. Summary: When the Tall Grass tribe finds an enemy’s daughters spying on them, their chieftain orders her male warriors to punish the girls…all night long.

  4. And for anybody even thinking about writing fan fiction for a commission here, I remind you of this: A reminder that we do NOT allow fan fiction to be hosted here that has been written for money, nor do we allow people to offer to write fan fiction for money. Profiting from copyrighted material is illegal, and a great we to get you the writer and us the host into a great deal of legal trouble.

  5. He is waaaay more threatening. He has minions who are threatening in their own right, too! Like that cold-blooed Cassie and asshole ackerman. Plus he’s got a nice tower for some Sauron echoes. Disagree – first story is chock full of plot holes and stupidity. This one really hangs together well and makes a ton of sense. Eparlegna’s previous scheme was likely centuries in the planning, so whatever he’s doing now he’s had maybe 75 years to think about and a few days to get going while back out. You’ve probably got him doing the best he can with the resources, especially with the longer he leaves it, the more chance there is of another humanity champion getting him by surprise. Yeah, but they’re also actively promoting more “Naruto turned into chicken” stories. Obviously too last minute now with the last part probably mostly written, but if I’d thought of it earlier I’d have said one way to bring some flashbacks would be for him to drag that pair of cops back out of Hell to either taunt Luzurial (Ghost pops out of stairwell wall, “Hey, remember when you came with my fist up your ass?” ) or molest Kevin – Ray Stantz style ectoplasm blowies! – so Luzurial gets him back… soiled. Obviously you’d have said no, but the mental images would be in your head! See! monster… This makes a lot of sense! It does work for sure. I admit to being curious as to their reaction if they realised Kevin was boning her… Nobody ever lets me down as much as I let myself down, but I am sure you won’t!

  6. A lady by the username of Maidenhair, who used to be a regular on here years ago, has sadly passed away. She was a funny, selfless person who was always willing to help others. 56 is way too young. RIP Linda.
